Sleepy Primrose
''Primula nutans'', also known as the sleepy primrose, is a species of flowering plant belonging to the family Primulaceae. Description ''Primula nutans'' is a perennial plant species. Plants possess green, sub-orbicular leaf blades. Leaves are around 2.5cm long with narrow petioles. Flowers are hosted on stalks, which stand tall above the leaves. Blooms can range from 2 - 8 flowers per plant. Petals are pale pink, however the colour shifts from white and then yellow towards the centre of the flower. Flowers range in diameter from 12 - 16mm. Distribution and habitat ''Primula nutans'' native range is spread from the subarctic to the Himalayas. It can be found within both Europe and Asia within the countries of: China, Finland, Norway, Nepal, Sweden, Mongolia, Russia, Kazakhstan and Pakistan. Johann Gottlieb Georgi
Johann Gottlieb Georgi (31 December 1729 – 27 October 1802) was a German-Russian botanist, naturalist and geographer. A native of Pomerania, Georgi accompanied both Johan Peter Falk and Peter Simon Pallas on their respective journeys through Siberia. During 1770-1774 he travelled on its behalf to Astrakhan, the Urals, Bashkir, the Barabinsk steppe, the Kolyvanskoe silver mines (to assess the ore content), Altai, Tomsk, Irkutsk, Baikal, and Dauren. In 1783 he became an academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences in St Petersburg. Georgi was particularly interested in the Baikal region. Based on collections from far eastern Russia, in his 1775 publication ''Bemerkungen einer Reise im Russischen Reich im Jahre 1772'', Georgi provided the first botanical descriptions of many of the region's flowering plants, among them the Baikal skullcap (''Scutellaria baicalensis''). Moraine
A moraine is any accumulation of unconsolidated debris (regolith and Rock (geology), rock), sometimes referred to as glacial till, that occurs in both currently and formerly glaciated regions, and that has been previously carried along by a glacier or ice sheet. It may consist of partly rounded particles ranging in size from boulders (in which case it is often referred to as boulder clay) down to gravel and sand, in a groundmass of finely-divided clayey material sometimes called glacial flour.
