Second Abang Johari Cabinet
Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Abang Openg formed the second Abang Johari cabinet after being invited by Abdul Taib Mahmud to begin a new government following the victory in the 18 December 2021 general election in the state of Sarawak, Malaysia. In order to be the Premier, Abang Johari was immediately sworn in before the Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak on the same day that night. Cabinet Of Sarawak
The Cabinet of Sarawak is the decision making organ of the executive branch of the Government of Sarawak, Malaysia. The cabinet consists of the Premier, appointed by the Governor on the basis that they are able to command a majority in the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly, as well as a number of ministers appointed from members of the legislature on the advice of the Premier. The cabinet is similar in structure and role to that of the federal level, while being smaller in size. 2021 Sarawak State Election
The 2021 Sarawak state election, formally the 12th Sarawak general election, took place on 18 December 2021. This election was to elect 82 members of the 19th Sarawak State Legislative Assembly. The previous assembly was dissolved on 3 November 2021. As the previous assembly first sat on 7 June 2016, it was originally set to be dissolved automatically on 7 June 2021. However, the 2021 state emergency declaration, preceded by a federal 2021 Malaysian state of emergency declaration nationwide, arising from the 2020–21 political crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, suspended the automatic dissolution of the legislature until the proposed end of the emergency duration on 2 February 2022. Douglas Uggah Embas (born 28 July 1956) is a Malaysian politician who has served as Deputy Premier of Sarawak since 2016. He has been Member of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Bukit Saban since 2016, having previously been Member of Parliament (MP) for Betong from 1986 to 2018. The Progressive Democratic Party ( Malay: Parti Demokratik Progresif, Abbreviation: PDP), formerly known as Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party is a Sarawak based political party in Malaysia founded in 2002. The First Abang Johari cabinet took office on 19 January 2017, six days after the election of Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Abang Openg to the leadership of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) and his appointment as Chief Minister of Sarawak, Malaysia. It succeeded the second Adenan cabinet, which dissolved on 11 January 2017 following the death of the previous Chief Minister Adenan Satem. Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak
The Yang di-Pertua Negeri Sarawak, also known as the Governor of Sarawak, is the ceremonial head of state of Sarawak. The Yang di-Pertua Negeri is styled ().
