State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) Assam is the search and rescue division of the Assam Police department in north-eastern India. History The National Policy on Disaster Management 2009 requires the state governments in India to raise their own forces for rapid disaster response. As a result, the Assam State Government made the decision to raise the SDRF in September 2010, in line with the National Disaster Response Force. This was enacted on 15 December 2011. The SDRF had a total strength of 3 companies with 337 active members, which is approximately 10 personnel per district. State Disaster Response Force Uttarakhand
State Disaster Response Force Uttarakhand or SDRF Uttarakhand is a specialised force of the Uttarakhand Police charged with conducting search and rescue operations. History On October 9, 2013, a mandate was issued for the formation of the State Disaster Response Force Uttarakhand and approval was given for the formation of two companies. In February 2014, deputation was done on the basis of merit from the Civil Police, PAC, IRB, Wireless, Fire Service and other ancillary branches. For the first 'A' and 'B' company, 152 police personnel/officers were trained at centers of the National Disaster Response Force, Patna, Bhatinda, Ghaziabad and SDRF Uttarakhand (State Disaster Response Force) was formed in the month of March 2014. The Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) is a specialised unit of Odisha Police constituted "To act immediately in case of disaster which may be due to natural calamity or industrial accident" by a state home department resolution. Composition Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) is a force of 10 units. The manpower is derived from Odisha State Armed Police(OSAP) and Armed police Reserve(APR). They have been equipped with the necessary equipments such as cranes, generators, troop carriers, trucks, concrete cutting equipments etc. The ODRAF units can additionally use the requisite tools available with Govt. / Public Sector and private agencies for their operations.
