Rolling Tobacco
Shag, also known as baccy, rolling tobacco or loose tobacco, is fine-cut tobacco, used to make self-made cigarettes by hand rolling the tobacco into rolling paper or injecting it into filter tubes. It got its name from the finely cut strands appearing like 'shag' fabric and was originally considered poor quality. Various types of cut are used; most shag blends use a simple mixture of cutting styles, consisting mostly of loose cut but also krumble kake, ribbon cut and flake may be used. Some shag blends use cuts reminiscent of pipe tobacco. These were imported to the United Kingdom by Rory Innes following the Virginia tobacco plantations in North America. A cigarette made with shag tobacco may be called a ''rollie'', a ''roll-up''/''dole-up'' or ''hand-rolled.'' The flat bags in which shag is typically packaged for commercial sale are often called ''tobacco pouches''. Koninklijke Theodorus Niemeyer BV (Royal Theodorus Niemeyer Ltd.) is a Dutch tobacco company. The company is currently part of the multinational British American Tobacco (BAT). History Koninklijke Theodorus Niemeyer BV has been a family-run business for a long period with origins from the trade in products from the Dutch colonies. Meindert Niemeyer started the trading-business on 25 March 1819. The company sold products from the colonies, including tobacco (brandname ''Wapen van Rotterdam'' or Arms of Rotterdam). When son Theodorus Niemeyer took over the business they started producing and selling different brands, both under their own name and also supplying other companies (such as De Bijenkorf). Rolling Paper
Rolling paper is a specialty paper used for making cigarettes (commercially manufactured filter cigarettes and individually made roll-your-own cigarettes). Rolling papers are packs of several cigarette-size sheets, often folded inside a cardboard wrapper. They are also known as 'blanks', which are used to encase tobacco or cannabis. It may be flavoured. Rolling papers are also used for rolling cannabis cigarettes called joints. Uncle Albert
Albert Gladstone Trotter, better known as Uncle Albert (19 November – 2001), is a fictional character in the BBC sitcom ''Only Fools and Horses'', portrayed by Buster Merryfield. He was introduced during the fourth series as a replacement for the character of Grandad (the character's brother) due to the sudden death of Lennard Pearce in 1984. ''Shag Tobacco'' is the third solo album from Gavin Friday. Once again, Friday teamed up with musician Maurice Seezer, Maurice "The Man" Seezer. Bono and The Edge contribute backing vocals on "Little Black Dress". "The Last Song I'll Ever Sing" was dedicated "in loving memory" of Scottish-Irish street performer Thom McGinty. This album features a cover version, cover of T. Rex (band), T. Rex's "The Slider". The second track, "Caruso", is Friday's tribute to Enrico Caruso, the Italian opera singer. Gavin Friday (born Fionán Martin Hanvey, 8 October 1959) is an Irish singer and songwriter, composer, actor and painter, best known as a founding member of the post-punk group The Virgin Prunes. Early life Fionan Hanvey was born in Dublin and attended primary and post-primary schools in Ballygall, a neighbourhood on Dublin's Northside (Dublin), Northside, between Finglas and Glasnevin. When he was fourteen years old and living on Cedarwood Road, between Finglas and Ballymun, he met Bono and Guggi at a party to which he had not been invited.
