The Alligators are a Danish rock'n'roll and rockabilly band. History The Alligators were founded in the later summer of 1990 in Copenhagen by drummer Ole Ballund, bassist Jens Dan and guitarist Morten Kjeldsen (" rockM"), all seasoned musicians with a common passion for the 1950s rock'n'roll and rockabilly. Saxophonist Niels Mathiasen initially joined the group in 1994; however, he did not become a full-time member of the group until 1997. During their first six months, The Alligators became familiar in the Copenhagen area as performers on the street and in undistinguished bars. Then, in the spring of 1991, a demonstration recording of theirs reached the mainland, with the outcome that they signed an exclusive booking and management contract with the well established CBA agency. From that point, the band grew increasingly successful, and by the end of 1991 The Alligators were considered one of the hardest working rock'n'roll bands in Denmark. Scotty Moore
Winfield Scott Moore III (December 27, 1931 – June 28, 2016) was an American guitarist who formed The Blue Moon Boys in 1954, Elvis Presley's backing band. He was studio and touring guitarist for Presley between 1954 and 1968. Rock critic Dave Marsh credits Moore with inventing power chords, on the 1957 Elvis hit " Jailhouse Rock". Moore was ranked 29th in ''Rolling Stone'' magazine's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time in 2011. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000, the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in 2007, and the Memphis Music Hall of Fame in 2015. Rockabilly is one of the earliest styles of rock and roll music. It dates back to the early 1950s in the United States, especially the South. Kangerlussuaq
Kangerlussuaq (; ; ) is a settlement in western Greenland in the Qeqqata municipalities of Greenland, municipality located at the head of the Kangerlussuaq Fjord, fjord of the same name. It was Greenland's main air transport hub and the site of Greenland's largest commercial airport until the new airport opened at Nuuk on 28 November 2024. The airport dates from American settlement during and after World War II, when the site was known as Bluie West-8 and then Sondrestrom Air Base. Wanda Jackson
Wanda LaVonne Jackson (born October 20, 1937) is an American retired singer and songwriter. Since the 1950s, she has recorded and released music in the genres of Rock music, rock, Country music, country and Gospel music, gospel. She was among the first women to have a career in rock and roll, recording a series of 1950s singles that helped give her the Honorific nicknames in popular music, nickname "The Queen of Rockabilly". She is also counted among the first female stars in the genre of country music. Jackson began performing as a child and later had her own radio show in Oklahoma City.
