Rady Mom (born 1970) is an American politician and a former representative of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, representing the 18th Middlesex County, Massachusetts, Middlesex district. The district was formerly represented by Kevin J. Murphy (politician), Kevin Murphy, who vacated his seat in 2014 when he was hired as the List of mayors and city managers of Lowell, Massachusetts, city manager of Lowell. Mom is the first Cambodian-American to be elected to the Massachusetts state Legislature as well as the first Cambodian American elected to a state legislature in the country. Career Rady made his acting debut in the feature film '' The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants'', playing Kostas Dounas, a role he reprised in the sequel, '' The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2''. Elsa Rady (July 29, 1943 – January 29, 2011) was an American ceramist. Born in New York City on July 29, 1943, Rady was the daughter of Lily Mehlman Rady, a former dancer for Martha Graham, and Simon Rady, a record executive and producer. By the age of seven she was taking ceramics classes with her older sister, Jane. From 1962 until 1966 she studied at the Chouinard Art Institute, where her instructors included Ralph Bacerra and Otto and Vivika Heino. She worked for two years in the 1960s at Interpace, returning there from 1989 to 1994, and designed pieces for the Swid Powell company as well. During the 1994 Northridge earthquake she lost 70 works, valued at $225,000, despite packing them in carpet tubing as a precaution. Rady kept a studio in Venice, California, for many years. Martyn Rady (born 1955) is Masaryk Professor Emeritus of Central European History at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies (SSEES), University College London (UCL). He was from 1995 to 2009 Warden of Hughes Parry Hall, an intercollegiate hall of the University of London. He retired from UCL in December 2020. He lives in Stroud in Gloucestershire. Career Martyn Rady was educated at Caterham School and Westfield College, University of London, where he read for a BA in History. He went on to do postgraduate work at the University of London and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, which he attended as a British Council exchange student.
