Provinces Of Vietnam
Vietnam is divided into 34 First-level administrative division, first-level subdivisions, comprising 28 provinces () and Municipalities of Vietnam, six municipalities under the command of the central government (). A proposal reported in April 2025 show the number of provinces and cities to be Plan for arrangement and merger of administrative units in Vietnam 2024–2025, reduced to 34 through mergers. Municipalities are the highest-ranked cities in Vietnam. Municipalities are centrally-controlled cities and have special status equal to that of the provinces. Plan To Arrange And Merge Administrative Units In Vietnam 2024–2025
As part of Vietnam's 2024–2025 Institutional Reforms, the governing Communist Party of Vietnam, Communist Party and Government of Vietnam, Government have officially announced the Plan to Arrange and Merge Administrative Units (). As part of the re-organisation, the district level of units is to be eliminated and the number of local government units at the provincial and communal levels is to be reduced by around 50% each. A constitutional amendment will be required to eliminate the district level of local authorities. Therefore, it is even considered to be the transition period to revise the Constitution of Vietnam, Vietnamese constitution and legal system. Cao Bằng Province
Cao Bằng is a province of the Northeast region of Vietnam. The province has borders with Hà Giang, Tuyên Quang, Bắc Kạn, and Lạng Sơn provinces within Vietnam. It also has a common international border with Guangxi province in China. The province covers and, as of 2023, its population was 547,849 people. Red River Delta
The Red River Delta or Hong River Delta () is the flat low-lying plain formed by the Red River and its distributaries merging with the Thái Bình River in Northern Vietnam. ''Hồng'' (紅) is a Sino-Vietnamese word for "red" or "crimson". The delta has the smallest area but highest population and population density of all regions.
