Port-royal (band)
port-royal (intentionally written without capitalization and with the "-" between "port" and "royal") is a Genoa, Italy-based electronica and post-rock band formed in the year 2000 by Attilio Bruzzone (Guitar, Keyboards) and Ettore Di Roberto (Piano, Keyboards). Soon after they were joined by Ettore's brother Michele Di Roberto (Drums), Emilio Pozzolini (Keyboards, Sampling), and Giulio Corona (Bass). The band's music emphasizes instrumentals over lyrics; a style resembling other instrumentally focused bands, such as Mogwai and M83. History In July 2000, childhood friends Attilio (who is also a philosopher, Ph.D, and co-founder of the band Diamat, which released 2 albums via n5MD) and Ettore from Genoa, Italy, decided to form a band during a party. ''Velocifero'' is the fourth studio album by English electronic music band Ladytron and their first to be released by Nettwerk. The album was first released digitally on 19 May 2008, followed by a physical release on 2 June in the United Kingdom and on 3 June elsewhere. ''Velocifero'' peaked at number 75 on the UK Albums Chart, becoming the band's second highest-charting album to date in the UK (after ''Gravity the Seducer'' reached number 72 in 2011). Ladytron are an electronic band formed in Liverpool in 1999. The group consists of Helen Marnie (lead vocals, synthesizers), Mira Aroyo (vocals, synthesizers), and Daniel Hunt (synthesizers, guitar, vocals). Reuben Wu (synthesizers) was a member from 1999 until 2023. They have released seven studio albums: '' 604'' (2001), '' Light & Magic'' (2002), '' Witching Hour'' (2005), '' Velocifero'' (2008), '' Gravity the Seducer'' (2011), '' Ladytron'' (2019) and '' Time's Arrow'' (2023). The song was offered as the "Free MP3 of the Day" on Spinner. Background "We All Wanna Be Prince" is written by Alex Croisy and Felix da Housecat, while the latter produced the song. Felix da Housecat (born Felix Stallings Jr., August 25, 1971) is an American DJ and record producer, mostly known for house music and electro. Felix is regarded as a member of the second wave of Chicago house. Musical career Early life Stallings developed an interest in the emergent Chicago house music scene at a young age. While a student at Rich East High School in Park Forest, Illinois in the mid-1980s, a chance introduction to acid house pioneer DJ Pierre gave the then 15-year-old Stallings his break, and under the patronage and guidance of Pierre, he released his first single, "Phantasy Girl," in 1987. Also in 1987, Felix went to Alabama State University to study media and communication.
