Participatory Cinema
Participatory cinema tries to involve a film's community in the process of making movies, rather than interaction being left to cinema viewers at the end of the process. The organizers of participatory cinema open up cinema showings and the cinema production process for non professionals. Where classic film production focuses on the final product, participatory cinema focuses on the process of making movies and its meaning on the participators. Public participation, also known as citizen participation or patient and public involvement, is the inclusion of the public in the activities of any organization or project. Participatory video (PV) is a form of participatory media in which a group or community creates their own film. The idea behind this is that making a video is easy and accessible, and is a great way of bringing people together to explore issues, voice concerns or simply to be creative and tell stories. It is therefore primarily about process, though high quality and accessible films (products) can be created using these methods if that is a desired outcome. This process can be very empowering, enabling a group or community to take their own action to solve their own problems, and also to communicate their needs and ideas to decision-makers and/or other groups and communities. Interactive Cinema
Interactive cinema tries to give an audience an active role in the showing of movies. Another newer definition of interactive cinema is a video game which is a hybrid between participation and viewing, giving the player – or viewer, as it were – a strong amount of control in the characters' decisions. It is compared to interactive film. This form of media recently has become more relevant. Companies like Netflix have even began coming out with releases that have this different way of consumption. Amateur professionalism or professional amateurism (shortened to pro-am) is a blurring of the distinction between professional and amateur within any endeavour or attainable skill that could be labelled professional in fields such as writing, computer programming, music or film. The idea was used by Demos, a British think tank, in the 2004 book ''The Pro-Am Revolution'' co-authored by writer Charles Leadbeater. Wreckamovie was a collaborative film production platform to allow individuals to set up a film production and find a community to collaborate with, or find others' interesting film productions and become a collaborator in a worknet. Its aim is to make filmmaking easier, more effective and possible for everyone. History Star Wreck Studios Oy Ltd and Wreckamovie were created by a group of filmmakers from Finland, who in 2005 created the freely downloadable Star Trek parody movie '' Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning''. ''Sanctuary'' is a re-mixable science fiction film. In 2005, it became the first production to sign professional union actors to Creative Commons licensing terms.
