Orda (organization)
An orda (also ordu, ordo, or ordon) or horde was a historical sociopolitical and military structure found on the Eurasian Steppe, usually associated with the Turkic and Mongol peoples. This form of entity can be seen as the regional equivalent of a clan or a tribe of nomads. Some successful ordas gave rise to khanates. The original term did not carry the meaning of a large khanate such as the Golden Horde. These structures were contemporarily referred to as ''ulus'' ("nation" or "tribe"). Etymology Etymologically, the word ''ordu'' ultimately comes from the Turkic ''ordu'' which means "army" in Turkic and Mongolian languages, as well as "seat of power" or "royal court". In English, it was directly or indirectly borrowed from Latin ''orda'', or from Polish ''horda''. Within the Liao Empire of the Khitans, the word ordo was used to refer to a nobleman's personal entourage or court, which included servants, retainers, and bodyguards. Emperors, empresses, and high ranking ...

First Khan of the White Horde Orda Ichen ( – 1251) is credited with founding the White Horde; he was the eldest son of Jochi and the first grandson of Genghis Khan. Orda participated in the massive Mongol invasion of Rus' in 1237–1242. At the death of his father and grandfather, Orda Khan inherited the Eastern portions of his father's lands; while he was the elder, he nevertheless agreed that his younger brother Batu Khan ruled the whole Golden Horde (also known as the Jochid Ulus). This mainly consisted of the territories between Lake Balkhash and the Volga river; it was in these lands that Orda eventually founded the White Horde. West of the Volga river were the lands of his younger brother Batu, who became the first ruler of the Blue Horde and the supreme khan of the Golden Horde. Gü ...

Urdă
Urda (, indefinite form: ; ; ; ; ; ; ) is a whey cheese commonly produced in Southeast Europe, and Hungary. Etymology The name derives from Albanian , from Proto-Albanian ''*wurdā'', from an earlier form ''*urdā'' or ''*uordā'', ultimately derived from Proto-Indo-European "to boil, to burn". It is cognate to Old Armenian (''vaṙim'', "to burn"), Lithuanian ("to cook, to boil"). It is semantically relevant that this cheese is produced by boiling whey. The Albanian term has been borrowed to other Balkan and Carpathian languages, notably Romanian , but also Bulgarian, Hungarian, Serbian, Slovak, Rusyn, Polish, Czech, and Russian languages.
