Ord Of Caithness
The Ord of Caithness () is a granite mass on the east coast of the Highland (council area), Highland council area of Scotland, on the boundary of the historic counties of Sutherland and Caithness. It is north-east of Helmsdale. It forms a headland high, known as Ord Point. The A9 road (Scotland), A9 road passes above the Ord; there are sharp bends as it follows the contours. History Historically, "the grim barrier of the Ord guaranteed its (i.e. Caithness's) isolation, and travellers who passed that way were greatly impressed by the experience." It was described in the 1880s: "The old road over it, formerly the only land ingress to Caithness, traversed the crest of its stupendous seaward precipices at a height and in a manner most appalling to both man and beast... even the present road, formed in 1811... has very stiff gradients." It is said to be fatally unlucky for any member of the Clan Sinclair, Sinclair family to cross the Ord on a Monday, as this was the day on which ...

Ordinal Number
In set theory, an ordinal number, or ordinal, is a generalization of ordinal numerals (first, second, th, etc.) aimed to extend enumeration to infinite sets. A finite set can be enumerated by successively labeling each element with the least natural number that has not been previously used. To extend this process to various infinite sets, ordinal numbers are defined more generally using linearly ordered greek letter variables that include the natural numbers and have the property that every set of ordinals has a least or "smallest" element (this is needed for giving a meaning to "the least unused element"). This more general definition allows us to define an ordinal number \omega (omega) to be the least element that is greater than every natural number, along with ordinal numbers , , etc., which are even greater than . A linear order such that every non-empty subset has a least element is called a well-order. The axiom of choice implies that every set can be well-orde ...

Verein Für Germanisches Heidentum
The (, ), abbreviated VfGH, is a Germanic neopagan organisation in Germany. It began in 1994 as the German chapter of the British Odinic Rite and was called the Odinic Rite Deutschland. It became independent in 2004 and changed its name in 2006. Though it has never had many members, it is nonetheless influential among German neopagans. Prominent people within the organisation have included Bernd Hicker, who was its first leader, and Fritz Steinbock, who has managed and influenced its religious practice. The VfGH practices Germanic paganism conceived as a polytheistic religion connected to the region of Central and Northern Europe. By tying the practice to a geographic location, it rejects both religiosity and universalist approaches. Central to the practice are reinvented —ceremonies that may involve invocations of gods, drinking and sacrificial gifts—which are held by local groups. Members are allowed to have varying beliefs and priestly functions are limited to perf ...

Kveldssanger
''Kveldssanger'' (translated as ''"Twilight Songs"'') is the second studio album by Norwegian band Ulver, issued in March 1996 via Head Not Found. The album was recorded at Endless Lydstudio, Oslo, Norway in the summer and autumn of 1995, with Kristian Romsøe as engineer and co-producer. Background For ''Kveldssanger'', the second part of what has become known as Ulver's "'' Black Metal Trilogie''", the band expanded upon the quiet, folk-influenced acoustic elements present in their debut album, '' Bergtatt''. Incorporating classical guitars, cello and choral chamber chants overlaid with subtle orchestral landscapes - eschewing any black metal elements - the album was a drastic contrast to ''Bergtatt'' and other black metal albums of the time, whilst still retaining a level of atmospheric and folklore-themed lyrics. Vocalist Kristoffer Rygg has since remarked that ''Kveldssanger'' was an "immature attempt at making a classical album", yet he felt the content was strong when his ...

He was sent to Earth by the ruler of the Breakworld, Powerlord Kruun, on a mission to stop a mutant from Earth from destroying their planet (an event predicted using their race's advanced technology). To this end Ord obtained the body of the X-Man Colossus and resurrected him using superior Breakworld technology. Ord proceeded to experiment on Colossus and with the assistance of the human scientist Dr. Kavita Rao using his DNA to develop a cure for the mutant condition in the hope that this would prevent the destruction of his planet. Ord Mantell
The fictional universe of the ''Star Wars'' franchise features multiple planets and moons. While only the feature films and selected other works are considered canon to the franchise since the 2012 acquisition of Lucasfilm by The Walt Disney Company, some canon planets were first named or explored in works from the non-canon ''Star Wars'' expanded universe, now rebranded as ''Star Wars Legends''. In the theatrical ''Star Wars'' films, many scenes set on these planets and moons were filmed on location rather than on a sound stage. For example, the resort city of Canto Bight located on the planet Cantonica, seen in '' Star Wars: The Last Jedi'' (2017), was filmed in Dubrovnik, Croatia. ''Star Wars'' canon astrography The ''Star Wars'' galaxy contains several broad sub-regions. Their exact definitions fluctuated somewhat during the ''Legends'' continuity, but were later formally updated by the new canon continuity when Disney purchased Lucasfilm. The new canon map is ...

Multiplicative Order
In number theory, given a positive integer ''n'' and an integer ''a'' coprime to ''n'', the multiplicative order of ''a'' modulo ''n'' is the smallest positive integer ''k'' such that a^k\ \equiv\ 1 \pmod n. In other words, the multiplicative order of ''a'' modulo ''n'' is the order of ''a'' in the multiplicative group of the units in the ring of the integers modulo ''n''. The order of ''a'' modulo ''n'' is sometimes written as \operatorname_n(a). Example The powers of 4 modulo 7 are as follows: : \begin 4^0 &= 1 &=0 \times 7 + 1 &\equiv 1\pmod7 \\ 4^1 &= 4 &=0 \times 7 + 4 &\equiv 4\pmod7 \\ 4^2 &= 16 &=2 \times 7 + 2 &\equiv 2\pmod7 \\ 4^3 &= 64 &=9 \times 7 + 1 &\equiv 1\pmod7 \\ 4^4 &= 256 &=36 \times 7 + 4 &\equiv 4\pmod7 \\ 4^5 &= 1024 &=146 \times 7 + 2 &\equiv 2\pmod7 \\ \vdots\end The smallest positive integer ''k'' such that 4''k'' ≡ 1 (mod 7) is 3, so the order of 4 (mod 7) is 3. Properties Even without knowledge that we are working in the multiplicative ...

Order Type
In mathematics, especially in set theory, two ordered sets and are said to have the same order type if they are order isomorphic, that is, if there exists a bijection (each element pairs with exactly one in the other set) f\colon X \to Y such that both and its inverse are monotonic (preserving orders of elements). In the special case when is totally ordered, monotonicity of already implies monotonicity of its inverse. One and the same set may be equipped with different orders. Since order-equivalence is an equivalence relation, it partitions the class of all ordered sets into equivalence classes. Notation If a set X has order type denoted \sigma, the order type of the reversed order, the dual of X, is denoted \sigma^. The order type of a well-ordered set is sometimes expressed as . Examples The order type of the integers and rationals is usually denoted \pi and \eta, respectively. The set of integers and the set of even integers have the same order type, becaus ...
