The Old Man of the Mountain, also called the Great Stone Face and the Profile, was a series of five granite cliff ledges on Cannon Mountain in Franconia, New Hampshire, United States, that appeared to be the jagged profile of a human face when viewed from the north. Kurt Oldman is a Swiss born composer of music for television and film. Early life and career Oldman was born in Switzerland to parents who were both musicians. His father attended the Conservatory of Music in Fribourg. His grandfather and great-grandfather were also classical musicians. The Oldman River is a river in southern Alberta, Canada. It flows roughly west to east from the Rocky Mountains, through the communities of Fort Macleod, Lethbridge, and on to Grassy Lake, where it joins the Bow River to form the South Saskatchewan River, which eventually drains into the Hudson Bay. It is native to Eurasia and Africa but naturalized in scattered locations in North America. Other common names include: old man, boy's love, oldman wormwood, lover's plant, appleringie, garderobe, Our Lord's wood, maid's ruin, garden sagebrush, European sage, sitherwood and lemon plant. It is threatened in the wild, but widespread propagation and popularity in cultivation have reduced the demand on wild populations.
