Patricia Okker
Patricia Ann Okker was named president of New College of Florida in 2021. She was previously a professor of English at the University of Missouri, where she focused her studies on American literature. Education and career Okker has a B.A. from Allegheny College and an M.A. from the University of Georgia. Okker earned her Ph.D. in 1990 from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Okker started as an assistant professor at the University of Missouri in 1990, and was promoted to full professor in 2004. From 2005 until 2011, she served as chair of the English department, and from 2017 until 2021 Okker served as dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Missouri. Simon Okker
Simon Okker (1 June 1881 – 6 March 1944) was a Dutch Olympic epee and foil fencer, who was killed in the Auschwitz concentration camp. Biography Okker was Jewish, and was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He participated in the 1906 Intercalated Games in Athens, Greece, coming in 5th, and in the 1908 Summer Olympics in London, England. Okker was killed by the Nazis in the Auschwitz concentration camp in 1944. Thomas Samuel Okker (born 22 February 1944), nicknamed "the Flying Dutchman", is a Dutch former tennis player who was active from the mid-1960s until 1980. He won the 1973 French Open Doubles, the 1976 US Open Doubles, and two gold medals at the 1965 Maccabiah Games in Israel. He was ranked among the world's top-ten singles players for seven consecutive years, 1968–74, reaching a career high of world No. 3 in 1974. He also was ranked world No. 1 in doubles in 1979.
