''of Beauty and Rage'' is the fifth studio album by American Christian rock band Red. It was released on February 24, 2015 through Essential Records. It was produced by Rob Graves. The album was included through a PledgeMusic campaign. "Darkest Part" and "Yours Again" were available pre-release to backers. The album's first single "Darkest Part" was released on December 8, 2014. The album's second single, "Yours Again", was released on March 19, 2015. The album received highly positive reviews, with many citing it as the band's best album ever. Background According to one of the twins, Anthony Armstrong, Red's guitarist, the song, "Darkest Part", is "simply about being vulnerable. When you trust someone and show the demons you have hidden away in your life, there is a fear and likelihood of scaring someone away." Red (band)
Red (stylized as RED or R3D) is an American Christian rock band from Nashville, Tennessee, formed in 2002 by brothers guitarist Anthony Armstrong and bassist Randy Armstrong, with lead vocalist Michael Barnes. Blue Stahli is an American electronic rock music project by Bret Autrey. Blue Stahli has released nine studio albums (four of which are instrumental) and his music has appeared in a number of movie trailers, shows and games. Additionally, he composes music for video games. History Precursors and VOXiS (1997–2006) Autrey started music at a young age, learning through the use of an old beat up piano he had rescued from a dump. He worked through 3 years of piano lessons, by mimicking his neighbor and playing the melodies by ear. During this same time, he had become interested in sampling and programming music using Impulse Tracker for DOS. Dan Johnson is an American drummer currently with American rock band Soundmankillz and formerly with the Christian rock band Red, Christian metal band Love and Death, rock metal band Back from Ashes, and hard rock band The Sammus Theory. History Having grown up in Pennsylvania, Johnson played drums in the band UO4 throughout his high school career. After starting his adulthood in Phoenix, his drumming career in Arizona began with local band Mo Nasty, after which time he moved on to The Sammus Theory.
