''Newsarama'' is an American website that publishes news, interviews, and essays about the American comic book industry. It is owned by Future US. In June 2020, Newsarama was merged with the website ''GamesRadar+'', also owned by Future US. History Message board column ''Newsarama'' began in mid-1995 as a series of Internet forum postings on the Prodigy (ISP), Prodigy comic book message boards by fan Mike Doran. In the forum postings, Doran shared comic book-related news items he had found across the World Wide Web and, as these postings became more regular and read widely, he gave them the title "Prodigy Comic Book Newswire." In January 1997, Doran began to post a version of the column titled ''The Comics Newswire'' on Usenet's various rec.arts.comics communities. The name of the column evolved to ''The Newswire'', and then to ''CBI Newsarama'', before finally becoming ''Newsarama'' in 1998, with the help of co-creator Matt Brady. Countdown To Final Crisis
''Countdown'', also known as ''Countdown to Final Crisis'' for its last 24 issues based on the cover, was a comic book Limited series (comics), limited series published by DC Comics. It debuted on May 9, 2007, directly following the conclusion of the last issue of ''52 (comics), 52''. The series is written primarily by Paul Dini, along with a rotating team of writers and artists. ''Countdown'' consists of 51 issues, numbered in reverse and published weekly for one year. The series covers much of the fictional DC Universe, told in parallel narratives through the interconnecting stories of a cast of characters. It frequently crosses over with List of DC Comics publications (K–O), other DC titles. Jim Lee
Jim Lee (; born August 11, 1964) is a Korean-born American comic book artist, writer, editor, and publisher. As of 2023, he is the President, Publisher, and Chief creative officer, Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics. In recognition of his work, Lee has received a Harvey Award, Inkpot Award and three Wizard Fan Awards. Lee got his start in the industry in 1987 as an artist for Marvel Comics, illustrating titles such as ''Alpha Flight (comic book), Alpha Flight'' and ''The Punisher War Journal'' before becoming widely popular through his work on ''The Uncanny X-Men''. On that book, Lee worked with writer Chris Claremont, with whom he co-created the character Gambit (Marvel Comics), Gambit. Troy Brownfield
Troy Brownfield is a comic book writer, journalist, and college professor from Indiana. He has an extensive list of credits, but became widely known to the online community as a columnist for Newsarama and the creator/editor of ShotgunReviews.com. In June of 2018, he joined The Saturday Evening Post as a Staff Writer. With the September/October 2022 issues of the Post, Jack & Jill (magazine), and Humpty Dumpty (magazine), he has been named Executive Editor. Wildstorm Productions (stylized as WildStorm) is an American comic book imprint. Originally founded as an independent company established by Jim Lee and Brandon Choi to publish through Image Comics, Wildstorm became a publishing imprint of DC Comics in 1998. ''52'' is a weekly American comic book limited series published by DC Comics that debuted on May 10, 2006, one week after the conclusion of the ''Infinite Crisis'' miniseries. The series was written by Geoff Johns, Grant Morrison, Greg Rucka, and Mark Waid, with layouts by Keith Giffen. ''52'' also led into a few limited series spin-offs. ''52'' consists of 52 issues, published weekly for one year, each issue detailing an actual week chronicling the events that took place during the missing year after the end of ''Infinite Crisis''. Dan DiDio (; born October 13, 1959) is an American writer, editor, and publisher who has worked in the television and comic book industries. From February 2010 until February 2020, he was the co-publisher of DC Comics, along with Jim Lee. '' Wizard'' magazine recognized him as its first ever "Man of the Year" in 2003 for his work in the DC Universe line of comics.
