Murder Of Hans Herzog
On 12 November 2003, 59-year-old Hans Herzog, a German Australians, German-born Australian businessman, was found dead with multiple slash and stab wounds on his body at his residence at USJ, Subang Jaya in Kuala Lumpur, the capital city of Malaysia. On 11 September 2008, in Kulai, Johor, Malaysia, 16-year-old schoolgirl and salesgirl Lai Ying Xin () was kidnapped and murdered by a group of four youths, who extorted a ransom from her family in spite of her death. The case became known as the "Kulai school beauty hostage-murder" () in Malaysian Chinese newspapers, which extensively covered the case. Zulkipli Abdullah
On 6 August 2014, two 22-year-old British medical students - Aidan Brunger and Neil Dalton - were attacked and stabbed to death in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, where they were completing a six-week placement caring for patients in a local hospital of Sarawak. The Royal Malaysia Police investigated the case and arrested five suspects. One of these suspects, a local fishmonger named Zulkipli Abdullah, was charged with the double murder, which made international headlines as crimes against tourists in Malaysia was extremely rare. After a short but highly reported trial that concluded in March 2015, Zulkipli was found guilty of murdering both Dalton and Brunger, and sentenced to death by hanging. On 14 January 2006, at Sungai Petani in Kedah, Malaysia, 24-year-old Chee Gaik Yap (), a Chinese Malaysian who was last seen jogging with her sister, went missing and she was found dead nine hours later with multiple stab wounds all over her body. Evidence showed that Chee had been abducted, raped, sodomized and in the end, murdered by her attacker, who was not caught until six years later, when the suspect was arrested at Kuala Lumpur International Airport after arriving from Perth.
