Monkey Kung Fu
Monkey kung fu or Hóu Quán (猴拳, "monkey fist") is a Chinese martial arts, Chinese martial art which utilizes ape or monkey-like movements as part of its technique. Northern Chinese martial arts such as Northern Praying Mantis and Wuzuquan incorporate some of the techniques from monkey kung fu. Origins It first originated from the Southern Shaolin Temple as Hou Quan (猴拳), monkey kung fu, or way of the mythical Sasquatch, as well as the better-known Dà Shèng Pī Guà Mén (大聖劈掛門) style. There are a number of independently developed systems of monkey kung fu. Some are integrated in Five Animal Kung Fu, Ng Ying Kung Fu systems. ''Drunken Monkey'' is a 2003 Hong Kong martial arts comedy film starring and directed by Lau Kar-leung in his last film directorial effort before his death on 25 June 2013. The film co-stars Wu Jing, Lau Wing-kina, and Shannon Yao. ''Drunken Master'' (), also known as ''Drunken Master The Beginning'', is a 1978 Hong Kong martial arts comedy film directed by Yuen Woo-ping and produced and co-written by Ng See-yuen. The film features much of the same crew as Yuen's '' Snake in the Eagle's Shadow'' released earlier the same year, including lead actors Jackie Chan, Yuen Siu-tien (Woo-ping's father), and Hwang Jang-lee; although narratively unrelated, ''Drunken Master'' bears similarities to its predecessor in its story and style. Eight Immortals
The Eight Immortals () are a group of legendary ''Xian (Taoism), xian (immortals)'' in Chinese mythology. Each immortal's power can be transferred to a vessel () that can bestow life or destroy evil. Together, these eight vessels are called the "Covert Eight Immortals" (). Most of them are said to have been born in the Tang dynasty, Tang or Song dynasty, Song Dynasty. Wong Fei-hung
Wong Fei-hung (born Wong Sek-cheung with the courtesy name Tat-wun; 19 August 1847 – 17 April 1925) was a Chinese martial artist, physician, and folk hero. Though he was considered an expert in the Hung Ga style of Chinese martial arts, his real public fame was as a physician who practiced and taught acupuncture, Dit Da (Chinese chiropractics) and other forms of traditional Chinese medicine in the now defunct Po Chi Lam (), a medical clinic in Canton (Guangzhou), Guangdong Province. Two museums dedicated to him were built in his birthplace in Foshan, Guangdong. ''Drunken Master II'' () is a 1994 Hong Kong action-comedy kung fu film directed by Lau Kar-leung and starring Jackie Chan as Chinese martial arts master and a Cantonese folk hero, Wong Fei-hung. ''Knockabout'' (Chinese: 雜家小子; ''Za jia xiao zi'') is a 1979 Hong Kong martial arts comedy film starring Yuen Biao and directed by Sammo Hung, who also co-stars in the film. Plot The film follows two con artist brothers, Yipao / Little John (Yuen Biao) and Taipao / Big John (Bryan Leung). One day they are cheated out of their ill-gotten gains in an encounter with Jia Wu Dao / Silver Fox (Lau Kar Wing). Drunken Monkey
Drunken Monkey Form or Drunken Monkey Pole Form of Kung Fu is a Chinese martial art, a variation of the Monkey Style. This style is different from Zui Quan (Drunken Fist), as the practitioner is imitating gestures of an intoxicated monkey, rather than a human fighter. Drunken Monkey does not begin with drunken-like gestures, but rather the drunken aspect enters the forms in the middle-section when the practitioner plays the movements of a monkey drinking stolen wine. The Drunken Monkey style is visually completely different when compared to Zui Quan and is shorter in sequence. This style, however, is considered more artistically beautiful, acrobatic and agile compared to Zui Quan. This does not necessarily mean that it is more or less effective in actual combat.
