Medi Bayreuth
Medi Bayreuth, official stylized as medi bayreuth, is a German professional basketball club that is based in Bayreuth, Germany. It was re-founded as BBC Bayreuth in 1999. The team plays in the ProA, the second-highest division of basketball in Germany. From 2013 until 2023, the company medi was the head and naming sponsor of the team. For the start of the 2023-24 season the club renamed itself BBC Bayreuth again. History The club was founded as the basketball section of Post SV Bayreuth in 1975 and was one of the clubs that established the second division of professional basketball in Germany. In its debut season, the team was immediately promoted to the first tier (Basketball Bundesliga). In 1979, the basketball team separated from Post SV, and the club was re-founded as USC Bayreuth. ProA
The ProA is the German basketball league system, second-tier Sports league, league of professional club basketball in Germany. The league comprises 16 teams. Officially the ProA is part of the ''2. Basketball Bundesliga'', which consists of the two hierarchical leagues ''ProA'' and ''ProB''. Before the 2007–08 season, the ''2. Basketball Bundesliga'' was a basketball league with the same name, which consisted of two geographical divisions. The 2016–17 Basketball Bundesliga was the 51st season of the Basketball Bundesliga, the top-tier level of professional club basketball in Germany. The season started on 23 September 2016 and ended on 11 June 2017. The name of the league was changed to easyCredit BBL, after the league signed a sponsor deal until 2021 with easyCredit. Brose Bamberg won their third straight and ninth overall title. The Basketball Bundesliga 2014–15 was the 49th season of the Basketball Bundesliga. The regular season started on 2 October 2014 and ended on 3 May 2015. The Playoffs started on 9 May and ended on 21 June 2015. Brose Baskets was the top seed in the regular season. The team also won the title, after it beat Bayern Munich 3–2 in the Finals. TBB Trier and Crailsheim Merlins finished in the relegation places, but due to Artland Dragons withdrawing from the Bundesliga, Crailsheim accepted an offer to remain in the Bundesliga for 2015–16. The Oberfrankenhalle is a multi-purpose indoor sporting arena that is located in Bayreuth, Germany. It is a part of the Bayreuth Sports Park, which also includes the Hans-Walter-Wild-Stadion football stadium, an ice rink, and an indoor pool. Adonis Michael Thomas (born March 25, 1993) is an American professional basketball player for the Al Sadd of the Qatari Basketball League. He played college basketball for the University of Memphis. High school career Thomas attended Melrose High School in Memphis, Tennessee. As a senior, he averaged 19.2 points, 12.3 rebounds, 4.9 blocks, 4.1 assists and 3.6 steals in helping lead Melrose to a 26–7 overall record.
