Denpasar is one of the 93 City status in Indonesia, autonomous cities in Indonesia-equivalent to the Regency (Indonesia), regency status, which means it runs its own government and has the authority to regulate government affairs and the interests of the locals. A mayor is the title given to the highest head of government in an autonomous city, along with the Vice Mayor of Denpasar, vice mayor as a deputy in the government. The current mayor is I Gusti Ngurah Jaya Negara, who took office on February 26, 2021. Anak Agung Gede Ngurah Puspayoga (; born 7 July 1965) is an Indonesian politician and economist. He was the 10th Indonesia's Minister of Cooperatives and Small & Medium Enterprises under President Joko Widodo's Working Cabinet (Joko Widodo), Working Cabinet from 2014 to 2019.
