Neil Churchill
Neil O. Churchill (February 13, 1891 – September, 1969) was a car dealer in Bismarck, North Dakota who funded an integrated baseball team in the mid-thirties more than a decade before Jackie Robinson broke the color barrier in Major League Baseball. Business Churchill joined Wickham Corwin's Bismarck automobile dealership in 1925 and the company became Corwin-Churchill Motor Co. A colleague said he "was a hell of a salesman—a smart fellow and real promoter." In 1937, when Corwin moved to Fargo, Churchill stayed in Bismarck. When Churchill retired in 1952 he sold his share of the business to the Corwin family. He also owned the Prince Hotel, Bismarck. John Warford
John Warford (born 1946) is the former mayor of Bismarck, North Dakota. He was elected to office in 2002, was re-elected in 2006 and again in 2010, leaving office in 2014. Although the mayor's office is officially non-partisan, Warford identifies himself as Republican. Warford attended the University of Minnesota. Steven Bakken (born 1968) is an American politician and radio host. He was the mayor of Bismarck, North Dakota. Early life and business career Bakken is a native of Grand Forks, North Dakota. He began his career as a radio host at the age of 12. Bakken attended the University of North Dakota. He spent time in several major markets during his radio career.
