Lodewyk de Jager (born 17 December 1992) is a South African professional rugby union player for the South Africa national team and in the English Premiership. He usually plays as a lock. Career De Jager played at youth level for the and also played for Potchefstroom-based university side . In 2012, he was included in the Leopards' Currie Cup squad, but failed to make an appearance. Yet, his performances in the 2012 Under-21 Provincial Championship earned him a move to the and he was included in the final squad for the 2013 Super Rugby season. He joined the Pretoria-based on a one-year deal for the 2017 Super Rugby season. On 24 April 2019 it was announced that he would be joining the Sale Sharks ahead of the 2019–20 Premiership season. 2012 Under-21 Provincial Championship
The 2012 ABSA Under-21 Provincial Championship will be contested from 13 July to 27 October 2012. The tournament will feature the Under-21 players from the fourteen provincial rugby unions in South Africa. Competition Division A There are seven participating teams in the 2012 ABSA Under-21 Provincial Championship Division A. These teams will play each other twice over the course of the season, once at home and once away. Teams will receive four points for a win and two points for a draw. Bonus points are awarded to teams that score 4 or more tries in a game, as well as to teams that lose a match by 7 points or less.
