-ium
A systematic element name is the temporary name assigned to an unknown or recently synthesized chemical element. A systematic symbol is also derived from this name. In chemistry, a transuranic element receives a permanent name and symbol only after its synthesis has been confirmed. In some cases, such as the Transfermium Wars, controversies over the formal name and symbol have been protracted and highly political. In order to discuss such elements without ambiguity, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC) uses a set of rules, adopted in 1978, to assign a temporary systematic name and symbol to each such element. This approach to naming originated in the successful development of regular rules for the naming of organic compounds. IUPAC rules The temporary names derive systematically from the element's atomic number, and apply only to 101 ≤ ''Z'' ≤ 999. Each digit is translated into a "numerical root" according to the table. The root ...

Worlds Of Aldebaran
The ''Worlds of Aldebaran'' () is a French science-fiction comic series written and illustrated by Léo and published by Dargaud in French and Cinebook in English. The ''Aldebaran'' saga is divided into 7 cycles: ''Aldebaran'' and its sequels ''Betelgeuse'', ''Antares'', ''Survivors'', ''Return to Aldebaran'', ''Neptune'' and ''Bellatrix''. Each cycle is composed of two to six albums, and each corresponds to a different planet. Although it is possible to read the cycles separately, they are chronological to form a coherent whole. Each cycle (and thus planet) introduces new secondary characters, although the central heroes of the story remain constant. 2011 saw the release of a new volume, ''Survivors'' (), which introduced a new set of characters and takes place concurrently with ''Antares''. The next cycle, ''Return to Aldebaran'' () consists of 3 albums, published between 2018 and 2020. It is followed in 2022 with ''Neptune'' and in 2023 with ''Bellatrix''. The series has been ...

Ium (Greece)
Oeum or Oion (), also known as Ium or Ion (Ἰόν), was the chief town of the district Sciritis in ancient Laconia. It commanded the pass through which was the road from Tegea to Sparta. When the Theban army under Epaminondas first invaded Laconia in four divisions, by four different passes, the only division which encountered any resistance was the one which marched through the pass defended by Oeum. But the Spartan Ischolaus, who commanded a body of troops at this place, was overpowered by superior numbers; and the invading force thereupon proceeded to Sellasia, where they were joined by the other divisions of the army. In Xenophon the town is called Ἰόν and the inhabitants Ἰᾶται; but the form Οἰόν or Οἶον is probably more correct. Such towns or villages, situated upon mountainous heights, are frequently called Oeum or Oea. Probably the Oeum in Sciritis is referred to in Stephanus of Byzantium under Οἶος. Oeum is not mentioned subsequently, unless we s ...
