Synopsis The novel follows Ista, mother of Iselle, the young ruler of Chalion. Following the lifting of the curse on her family and the recent death of her own aged mother, Ista finds herself bored and restless. International School Of Temple Arts
The International School of Temple Arts (ISTA) is an organization which describes itself as promoting sexual healing and healthy attitudes towards sex. ISTA claims its workshops address the spiritual aspects of sex. ISTA was founded in 2007 by Baba Dez Nichols in Arizona, as a non-profit organization. Baba Dez Nichols has not been part of ISTA leadership since 2015. He ceased facilitating ISTA trainings in 2019, and he is no longer a member of the ISTA Lead Faculty. ISTA teachings are influenced by Neotantra and western interpretations of shamanism. Nudity and other practices believed to occur at ISTA have caused controversy and opposition to establishment of ISTA seminars at some locations. Controversy Journalist Anke Richter stated to the '' Byron Shire Echo'' that "There was a covert harem culture at ISTA. Male pioneers surrounded themselves with young female lovers, often from their trainings, who were then accelerated to apprentices and facilitators". Some senior m ...

International School Of Theatre Anthropology
The International School of Theatre Anthropology (ISTA) is an international and multi-cultural network of performers, directors, scholars and academics of the theatre. Based in the Odin Teatret, Denmark, the organization has the nature of an itinerant university whose central field of study and research is theatre anthropology, the multi-cultural study of acting techniques. History Founded in 1979 by Eugenio Barba, the ISTA has functioned as a laboratory of theatre in the spirit of Grotowski theatre, though broader and more inclusive. ISTA researches the technical aspect of the performer's art by empirical methods to further the understanding of the fundamental principles which engender the performers' particular being and energy. This way of being, referred to as "presence" or "scenic life", is paradoxical. The 'daily' organic being is transmuted through often rigorous execution of techniques—which share a number of common features across a multitude of traditions—to come al ...

Internet Sacred Text Archive
The Internet Sacred Text Archive (ISTA) is a Santa Cruz, California-based website dedicated to the preservation of electronic public domain religious texts. History The website was first opened to the public on March 9, 1999, by John Bruno Hare (1955–2010), in Santa Cruz, California. Hare started building the website from his home in the late 1990s, as "an intellectual challenge". At the time, he was working as a software engineer with a dot-com company, and started by scanning over 1,000 public domain books on religion, folklore and mythology. The reason for its founding was the promotion of religious tolerance through knowledge. Its texts are organized into 77 different categories. The maintenance costs for the website — which received anywhere from five hundred thousand to two million visits a day — are funded by sales of the website on DVD, CD-ROM, or USB flash drive for monetary donations. Contents The Internet Sacred Text Archive lists three general links, World ...

Indiana State Teachers Association
{{no footnotes, date=August 2013 The Indiana State Teachers Association (ISTA) is a statewide professional association and labor union which represents more than 45,000 public school teachers and education support professionals, staff in state higher education institutions, retired educators, and college students preparing to become teachers. It is affiliated with the National Education Association. ISTA was founded on Christmas Day, 1854. History The support of education in Indiana in the early 1800s had been sporadic and unorganized. By 1852, the need for legislation to finance public education was so apparent that the Indiana General Assembly passed laws providing for both state and local levies for school purposes. This important 1852 law was contested in the courts, however, and the Indiana Supreme Court ruled that it was unconstitutional because the tax was "discriminatory." This decision resulted that local taxes could not be used for public education, which threatened a ser ...
