The Islamic Jihad Union (IJU; ) is a militant Islamist organization founded in 2002 as a splinter group of the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU). Headquartered in North Waziristan, a mountainous region of northwest Pakistan, bordering Afghanistan, the group has been affiliated with both Al-Qaeda and the Taliban. Under its original name Islamic Jihad Group (IJG; ), the group conducted several attacks in Uzbekistan. In 2007, a large-scale bomb plot in Germany, known as the "Sauerland terror cell", was discovered by German security authorities. In the following years, the group focused on fighting Pakistani forces in the tribal areas, and NATO and Afghan forces in Afghanistan. Recruits are mainly Turks both from Turkey and the Turkish communities in Western Europe, but also European converts to Islam, particularly in German-speaking countries. Iju, Ogun
Iju also known as Iju Oloko dʒou ɔ:lɔkɔ is a Nigerian town located in southern Ogun state and about 18 kilometers from Lagos state, a major commercial hub in West Africa. The town is inhabited mostly by Egba/ Owu natives whose ancestors settled there between 1842 and 1845. History In the mid-19th century after the Egbas and Owus militarily occupied the areas that are geographically south of Abeokuta, a party of the Egba/Owu army settled in Iju as they found the terrain to be ideally suitable for ambush in a guerrilla warfare as the invasion of the Dahomean Amazons loomed. As the name implies, Iju was a dense forest. A river, locally called Odo-Iju, flowed through the thick vegetation of several trees with large canopies and into the Ologe Lagoon in Lagos. Seiichi Iju
, also known as Selichl Ishu was an Okinawan martial artist. He studied Shitō-ryū karate as a student of Shinpan Gusukuma. Iju had a dojo in Osaka, Japan. He was the first teacher of Shūgorō Nakazato (from 1935 to 1940), who then went on to become a student of Chosin Chibana. The version of Gojūshiho kata practiced in Shōrin-ryū Shorinkan Shōrin-ryū (少林流) is one of the major modern Okinawan martial arts and is one of the oldest styles of karate. It was named by Choshin Chibana in 1933, but the system itself is much older. The characters 少林, meaning "sparse" or "scanty ... is credited to Iju and his lineage.
