i24NEWS is an English language international news television channel owned by Altice USA. It is the English version of i24NEWS. The network began broadcasting in the U.S. on February 13, 2017. It is live from 6 to 10p.m. Eastern Time and at other times broadcasts from Israel. History Original English channel The original channel went live on July 17, 2013. Franck Melloul, the CEO, stated that it would battle prejudice and ignorance about Israel with “facts and diversity.” Arab Israeli journalist Lucy Aharish was the lead anchor of the original English-language branch of the channel from July 2013 until she resigned in January 2016. Her show, ''The News Today'', was replaced by ''News Now with Merav Savir''. ''News Now'' was canceled after only a few months of broadcasting, ahead of changes to the network. i24NEWS is a 24-hour news television channel created by journalists and reporters from Israel. It broadcasts in languages such as French, English, Hebrew, and Arabic. The English channel offers a weekly broadcast in Spanish, as well. The broadcast owner is Patrick Drahi, and the CEO is Frank Melloul. The company is based in Tel Aviv, Israel, but the broadcast network reports news from all over the world. In early 2017, the channel paired up with the US to expand their channel. By 2018, the company had studios in Tel Aviv, Paris, New York, Washington, D.C., and Los Angeles, which it still has. It still deploys correspondents in other locations around the world. Michael Shure (born April 18, 1966) is an American journalist. He is former national correspondent for Nexstar Media Group's national newscast on '' NewsNation.'' The channel was launched on August 20, 2013, to compete with CNN, HLN, MSNBC, Fox News, and in certain markets RT America. Dan Raviv (born 1954) is an American journalist. Career Raviv was the senior Washington correspondent for i24 News, headquartered in Tel Aviv and New York, 2017 to 2020. Previously he was with CBS News for over 40 years as their national correspondent and was heard regularly on the CBS Radio Network. He had also done TV reports from Washington, D.C., on the ''CBS Evening News,'' and he narrated the 1997–98 revival of the CBS TV news shorts series for children ''In the News''. Shuster previously served as principal anchor and managing editor for i24 News (American TV channel), i24 News, previously working as an anchor for MSNBC and worked for Fox News, CNN, Current TV, The Young Turks, and Al Jazeera America. Shuster's career at MSNBC included anchoring prime time breaking news coverage of the death of Michael Jackson, the passage in Congress of historic health care reform, and the deadly earthquake in Haiti.
