Brian Hord
Brian Howard Hord (20 June 1934 – 30 August 2015) was a British chartered surveyor and politician. He served for one term as a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and maintained his involvement in the Conservative Party and in public life; he was chairman of a health authority for six years. Professional career Hord was brought up in the Reedham Orphanage School in London, from where he went to Purley County Grammar School. He was first employed at the age of 16 in the County Planning Department of Middlesex County Council, before joining G. L. Hearn & Partners as a surveyor. His education was completed at Regent Street Polytechnic and his National service took place between 1957 and 1959 in the Royal Air Force, and after the end he joined United Drapery Stores as an estates surveyor. Chad Hord
Chad Hord (born August 21, 1976) is a professional American off-road racing driver from Felch, Michigan. As of 2012, he races a PRO 2 short course truck in the Traxxas TORC Series (TORC). In 1995, he began racing in Short-course Off-road Drivers Association (SODA). The main sanctioning body for the Midwestern United States changed several times throughout his career; he raced in Championship Off-Road Racing (CORR), World Series of Off-Road Racing (WSORR) and Traxxas TORC Series (TORC). Hord won a championship in Super Buggy before turning professional and winning two championships in Pro Light. In 2011, he became the third Pro 2 driver to win the AMSOIL Cup, the world championship race in short course off-road racing. He also won the Electric Production class at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb that year. Donal Hord
Donal Hord (February 26, 1902 – June 29, 1966), an American sculptor, was born Donald Horr in Prentice, Wisconsin. Early life In 1914, Hord and his mother moved west, to Seattle, Washington. Shortly thereafter he contracted rheumatic fever, a condition that affected his heart and led to health conditions that were to be a factor in his life from then on. It was while he was ill in Seattle that Hord, spending much of his time in bed reading, developed an interest in Mexico and the people of Mexico that became powerful influence on his life and art. Believing that he could not survive another winter in damp Seattle, in 1916 his mother relocated them one more time, this time moving to the warmer, drier climate of San Diego, California, where they were both to remain for the remainders of their lives.
