Honey trapping is a practice involving the use of romantic or sexual relationships for interpersonal, political (including state espionage), or monetary purpose. The ''honey pot'' or ''trap'' involves making contact with an individual who has information or resources required by a group or individual; the trapper will then seek to entice the target into a false Interpersonal relationship, relationship (which may or may not include actual physical involvement) in which they can glean information or influence over the target. The term "honey trap" is also used when dating sites are used to gain access to a victim. The badger game is an extortion scheme or confidence trick in which the victims are tricked into compromising positions in order to make them vulnerable to blackmail. Its name is derived from the practice of badger-baiting. Description In its simplest form, the badger game proceeds thus: a married man begins an extramarital affair. Another man, posing as the other woman's husband or brother, then "discovers" the affair; he then demands money from the man to keep the affair secret. Robin Sage is a fictional American cyber threat analyst. She was created in December 2009 by Thomas Ryan, a security specialist and white hat hacker from New York City. Her name was taken from a training exercise of United States Army Special Forces. Fictional biography According to Sage's social networking profiles, she is a 25-year-old "cyber threat analyst" at the Naval Network Warfare Command in Norfolk, Virginia. She graduated from MIT and allegedly had 10 years of work experience, despite her young age. Catfishing refers to the creation of a fictitious online persona, or fake identity (typically on social networking platforms), with the intent of deception, usually to mislead a victim into an online romantic relationship or to commit financial fraud, such as the pig butchering scam. Love bombing is an attempt to influence a person by demonstrations of attention and affection. It can be used in different ways and for either positive or negative purposes. Psychologists have identified love bombing as a possible part of a cycle of abuse and have warned against it. Salon Kitty was a high-class Berlin brothel used by the Nazi intelligence service, the ''Sicherheitsdienst'' (SD), for espionage purposes during . Operation Midnight Climax was an operation carried out by the CIA as a sub-project of Project MKUltra, the mind-control research program that began in the 1950s.
