Neil Hannon
Edward Neil Anthony Hannon (born 7 November 1970) is a singer and songwriter from Northern Ireland. He is the founder and frontman of the chamber pop group the Divine Comedy, and is the band's only constant member since its inception in 1989. Hannon wrote the theme tunes for the television sitcoms ''Father Ted'' and '' The IT Crowd'', as well as the original songs for the musical film '' Wonka'' (2023). Early life and education Hannon was born in Derry, Northern Ireland, the son of Brian Hannon, a Church of Ireland minister in the Diocese of Derry and Raphoe and later Bishop of Clogher. He spent some of his youth in Fivemiletown before moving with his family to Enniskillen, in County Fermanagh, in 1982. While there, he attended Portora Royal School. J. Kemp Hannon (born January 10, 1946) is an American politician. A Republican, Hannon was a member of the New York State Senate from the 6th district in Nassau County between 1989 and 2018. Biography Hannon graduated from Chaminade High School (1963), Boston College (1967) and Fordham University School of Law (1970). Brian Hannon
Brian Desmond Anthony Hannon (5 October 1936 – 10 January 2022) was a Church of Ireland clergyman, who was Bishop of Clogher from 1986 to 2001. He was also the father of the singer and songwriter Neil Hannon, lead member of The Divine Comedy. Hannon was educated at Trinity College Dublin, and ordained in 1962. His first post was a curacy in Clooney, County Londonderry; after which he was the incumbent at Desertmartin, County Londonderry. He ministered in Derry, County Londonderry, from 1969 to 1982, during the time of The Troubles. Denis J. Hannon, also known as Dinny Hannon or Dinney Hannon (31 January 1888 – 23 August 1971), was an Irish footballer who played as an inside-right for both Bohemians and Athlone Town. Born in Athlone, County Westmeath, Ireland, Hannon was also a dual international and played for both Ireland teams – the IFA XI and the FAI XI. He was the first player ever to do this. Mary Josephine Hannan LRCPI & SI &LM (c1865–c1935) was the first Irishwoman to graduate LRCPI & SI and LM. Career Almost nothing is known about Hannan's early life or who her parents were. Hannan was one of the first women to study in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. She graduated in 1890 while living in Riverstown, Killucan, County Westmeath. By 1892 she had moved to India and was working in the Victoria Hospital, Kotah State and then the Dufferin Hospital, Ulwar State.
