The governor of Oriental Mindoro is the local chief executive and head of the Provincial Government of Oriental Mindoro in the Philippines. Humerlito Dolor
Humerlito "Bonz" Dolor (born November 27, 1976) is a Filipino politician from Naujan, Oriental Mindoro, and currently the Governor of Oriental Mindoro. He previously served as Vice Governor of the province from 2010 until 2019. Career Dolor served as vice governor of the province for three terms from 2010 until 2019, under Governor Alfonso Umali. He started his political career in his youth as chairperson of Sangguniang Kabataan. In 2001, he was elected as board member for the 1st District of Oriental Mindoro, and served until 2004. He ran for vice governor in 2004, only to lose to Arnan Panaligan. He made a successful comeback in the provincial board in 2007, placing second overall. Dolor successfully ran for Governor of Oriental Mindoro in the 2019 gubernatorial elections. Naujan, officially the Municipality of Naujan ( tgl, Bayan ng Naujan), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 109,587 people. It assumed the status of a full-fledged municipality on January 4, 1905, under Act 1280. Bongabong, officially the Municipality of Bongabong ( tgl, Bayan ng Bongabong), is a 1st class municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 76,973 people. The town is home to Kuta Bongabong (Fuerza de Bongabong), one of the oldest Spanish colonial fortifications in the Philippines. The fort is in dire need of proper conservation. The only agency with the proper capabilities to restore the fort is the National Museum of the Philippines. Elpidio Rivera Quirino (born Elpidio Quirino y Rivera; ; November 16, 1890 – February 29, 1956) was a Filipino lawyer and politician who served as the sixth president of the Philippines from 1948 to 1953. A lawyer by profession, Quirino entered politics when he became a representative of Ilocos Sur from 1919 to 1925. He was then elected as a senator from 1925 to 1935. Calapan, officially the City of Calapan ( fil, Lungsod ng Calapan), is a 3rd class component city and capital of the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. Mimaropa (usually capitalized in official government documents), formally known as the Southwestern Tagalog Region, is an administrative region in the Philippines. It was also formerly but still colloquially designated as Region IV-B until 2016. It is one of two regions in the country having no land border with another region (the other being Eastern Visayas).
