Fluke (film)
''Fluke'' is a 1995 American fantasy drama film directed by Carlo Carlei from a screenplay by Carlei and James Carrington, based on the 1977 novel of the same name by James Herbert. It stars Matthew Modine as a self-centered businessman who is reincarnated as a dog and attempts to reconnect with his family. Nancy Travis, Eric Stoltz, Jon Polito, Max Pomeranc, and Samuel L. Jackson appear in supporting roles. The film was theatrically released in the United States on June 2, 1995, by MGM/UA Distribution Co. It received negative to mixed reviews from critics and underperformed at the box office, grossing only $3.9 million. Carlo Carlei
Carlo Carlei (born 16 April 1960 in Nicastro) is an Italian film director. He has directed the English-language films '' Fluke'' (1995) and '' Romeo & Juliet'' (2013), as wall as the Italian television film '' Padre Pio: Miracle Man'' (2000). Biography Carlo Carlei was born in Nicastro, Lamezia Terme on 16 April 1960. Carlei had a strong interest in filmmaking since childhood. In an interview with ''Los Angeles Times'', Carlei cited the Stanley Kubrick film '' 2001: A Space Odyssey'' as an influential film. Although he initially moved to Rome to study law, he instead attended the newly-established Gaumont Film School in 1981, established by producer Renzo Rossellini.
