Ff – Südtiroler Wochenmagazin
The ''ff – Südtiroler Wochenmagazin'' is an Italy-based weekly journal for local politics, economy, society and culture, published for the German-speaking public of South Tyrol. The journal, well known for its social liberal views, can be characterized as the second-most influential German print medium in the area, following the '' Dolomiten'' newspaper. Founded in 1980, the ''ff'' was originally intended to be a magazine for "television and leisure time" (''Fernsehen und Freizeit''). But soon the editorial office started to publish reports about controversial socio-political topics, quite often in opposition to the governing South Tyrolean People's Party. According to the ''ff'', the journal reaches a third of the South Tyrolean population. South Tyrol
South Tyrol ( , ; ; ), officially the Autonomous Province of Bolzano – South Tyrol, is an autonomous administrative division, autonomous provinces of Italy, province in northern Italy. Together with Trentino, South Tyrol forms the autonomous Regions of Italy, region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol. Dolomiten (newspaper)
''Dolomiten'' is an Italian local daily newspaper, based in Bozen/Bolzano. It is the oldest and most important German-language newspaper published in South Tyrol, a region where German is spoken by the majority of the inhabitants. The title takes the German name of the local mountain range, the Dolomites. History Founded in 1882 as the ''Der Tiroler'', the paper was renamed ''Der Landsmann'' in August 1923 after the ban of use the "Tirolo" name in all its forms by the fascist government. In October 1925, the newspaper was forced to close due to its anti-fascist stance and reopened two years after, only under heavy and restrictive terms, as the media outlet of the catholic association Azione Cattolica, through the branch at the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Trento and in 1926 was renamed with the present name ''Dolomiten''. The South Tyrolean People's Party (, SVP) is a regionalism (politics), regionalist and mostly Christian democracy, Christian-democratic list of political parties in South Tyrol, political party in South Tyrol, an Autonomous administrative division, autonomous Provinces of Italy, province with a German language, German-speaking majority in northern Italy. The ''Neue Südtiroler Tageszeitung'', shortened as ''Tageszeitung'', is an Italian daily regional newspaper and one of two German-language daily newspapers published in South Tyrol. Founded in 1996, it holds social liberal views as opposed to the conservative stance of the '' Dolomiten'', the oldest and most influential German newspaper in the autonomous province. Published from Tuesday to Sunday, the paper has an average daily circulation of 12,000 sales. The ''Neue Südtiroler Tageszeitung'' evolved in 1996 from the weekly ''Südtirol Profil'' (South Tyrol Profile). It has a team of ten editors and a similar number of freelancers. It features articles and opinions ranging from current world affairs to sociopolitical topics.
