Eshay
Eshay () is a slang expression associated with an Australian urban youth subculture that originated from Western Sydney in the late 1980s, but has brought into the mainstream since the late 2010s and the 2020s. In New Zealand, "hoodrats" are a similar subculture. Etymology The term can refer to individuals within the subculture, or to the subculture itself, and can have various other meanings in different contexts. The word "eshay" apparently derives from the Pig Latin for "sesh" (meaning cannabis smoking session). The term "adlay" (), Pig Latin for "lad," refers to the same subculture. Chav
"Chav" (), also "charver", "scally" and "roadman" in parts of England, is a British term, usually used in a pejorative way. The term is used to describe an anti-social lower-class youth dressed in sportswear. * * * * Julie Burchill described the term as a form of " social racism". Onefour
Onefour (stylised in all caps) are an Australian drill and rap group originating from the Western Sydney suburb of Mount Druitt. They are regarded by many as the pioneers of drill music in Australia, following a run of viral singles in 2019. The group has four core members: J Emz, Spenny, Lekks and Celly. YP was also a member but he left the group in 2024 to focus on religion. Their debut album ''Against All Odds'', released in November 2020, peaked at No. 7 on the ARIA Charts (Australia) and No. 8 in New Zealand. Name and history The core members grew up in Mount Druitt, one of Sydney's most disadvantaged suburbs. Skeet (Newfoundland)
The noun skeet in Newfoundland English, Newfoundland and Labrador English is considered to be a pejorative epithet. Though it has never been formally defined in the Dictionary of Newfoundland English, it is used as a stereotype to describe someone who is ignorant, aggressive, and unruly, with a pattern of vernacular use of English language, English, drug and alcohol use, and who is involved in petty crime. Gopnik
A gopnik is a member of a Juvenile delinquency, delinquent subculture in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, and in other Post-Soviet states, former Soviet republics—a young man (or a woman, a gopnitsa) of urban working-class background. The collective noun is gopota (). The subculture of gopota has its roots in working-class communities in the late Russian Empire and gradually emerged underground during the later half of the 20th century in many cities in the Soviet Union.
