Edward Frederick Ertz
Edward Frederick Ertz (born 1 March 1862 in Canfield, Illinois, died 1954 in Pulborough, England) was an artist and fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He was also an etcher and wood engraver, and an early member of the Society of Graphic Art. He first worked in New Orleans and then New York, and showed work at the 1893 World's Fair. He went to Paris to train as a painter, exhibiting in the Paris salons from 1889. From 1892 to 1899 he was a professor of watercolour-painting and drawing at the Académie Delécluse in Paris. In 1899 or 1900 Ertz settled in the south of England, where he made paintings that were shown nationally and internationally. He kept a studio at Pulborough, Sussex, and taught at Kings Langley in Hertfordshire. He also produced coloured 'xylographie' (or 'xylographic') woodcut prints. Julie Beth Ertz (; born April 6, 1992) is an American former professional soccer player. From 2014 to 2021, she played for National Women's Soccer League club Chicago Red Stars, and in 2023 she played for Angel City FC. A member of the United States women's national team from 2013 to 2023, she first appeared for the United States national team during an international friendly against Scotland on February 9, 2013, eventually making 123 total appearances for the team. Ertz played collegiate soccer with the Santa Clara University Broncos from 2010 to 2013. Following her collegiate career, Ertz was selected third overall by the Chicago Red Stars in the 2014 NWSL College Draft and was named NWSL Rookie of the Year. Klaus Ertz (11 June 1945 – 3 August 2023) was a German art historian specializing in the Brueghel family of artists and their workshop. Ertz was born in Homburg and is best known for his catalogues raisonnés on Jan Brueghel the Elder, his son Jan II, his brother Pieter Brueghel the Younger, Josse de Momper, Marten van Cleve, Jan van Kessel, David Vinckboons, Josef van Bredal and Adriaen van Stalbemt. Ertz works as a private art consultant for various institutions in the art market. He and his wife Christa Nitze-Ertz own the art printing house Luca-Verlag in Lingen(Ems) that publishes books about Flemish paintings of the 16th and 17th century.
