Erling Kagge (born January 15, 1963) is a Norwegian explorer, publisher, author, philosopher, lawyer, art collector and entrepreneur. Three Poles Challenge Erling Kagge is the first person in history to reach the North Pole, South Pole and the summit of Mount Everest on foot. In 1990, Erling Kagge and Børge Ousland became the first to reach the North Pole unsupported. The expedition started from Ellesmere Island on March 8, 1990, and reached the North Pole 58 days later on May 4, 1990. They travelled approximately 800 kilometers on skis, pulling their supplies on sledges. In 1992 and 1993, Kagge completed the first unsupported and solo expedition to the South Pole, covering the 814-mile (1,310 km) route in 50 days. Erling Mandelmann (18 November 1935 – 14 January 2018) was a Danish photographer. He began his career as a freelance Photojournalism, photojournalist in the mid-1960s. Biography Mandelmann worked for 40 years as a freelance photojournalist and portrait photographer for a number of Swiss and European publications, as well as for various international organizations such as the World Health Organization, International Labour Organization, the United Nations, and Amnesty International. Erling Folkvord
Erling Folkvord (15 June 1949 – 1 March 2024) was a Norwegian politician for the Red Party and a member of the Parliament of Norway. A revolutionary socialist, he was one of the leading members of the Workers' Communist Party and the Red Electoral Alliance before they merged to form Red. He sat as a member of the Parliament of Norway from 1993 to 1997, becoming the first socialist to the left of the Socialist Left Party and the Labour Party in parliament since 1961. He later lost his position in 1997 and was a candidate for parliament until his death. He was a member of the Oslo City Council from 1983 to 1993, and again from 1999 to 2011. Erling Bauck (8 April 1924 – February 2004) was a Norwegian resistance member and writer. He was in Nazi captivity from 1942 to 1945 during World War II, first in Norway, then from 1944 in Auschwitz. War years He was born in Mosjøen, Nordland but lived in Bærum in Akershus. Norway. He was arrested on 30 April 1942 and incarcerated in Møllergata 19 until 22 May 1943, then in Grini concentration camp until 29 July 1943. He was then transferred to Germany and was imprisoned in Hegerwelde and Sachsenhausen until January 1944, then Majdanek and Lublin before being in Birkenau/Auschwitz from 29 July 1944 to 18 January 1945. Erling Persson (21 January 1917 – 28 October 2002) was the founder of H&M (Hennes & Mauritz). He got the idea following a post-World War II trip to the United States: he was impressed by the country's efficient, high-volume stores. Erling Aastad
Erling Rudolf Aastad (2 March 1898 – 30 June 1963) was a Norwegian long jumper and sprinter. He was born in Kristiania. At the 1920 Summer Olympics he finished fifth in the long jump final with a jump of 6.885 metres. He also competed for the 4 x 100 m relay team which was disqualified in the first round of the relay event. At the 1924 Summer Olympics he finished thirteenth in the long jump with 6.72 metres, and at the 1928 Summer Olympics he finished fourteenth with 7.07 metres. He became Norwegian champion in long jump in 1920 and 1925–1930, won a silver medal in 1921 and bronze medals in 1918 and 1924. He represented the clubs Fagforeningernes TIF and Torodd IF. He also won a silver medal in the 100 metres in 1925, behind Bjarne Guldager and ahead of Charles Hoff. Here he achieved 10.9 seconds, which was his lifetime best. Erling Blöndal Bengtsson
Erling Blöndal Bengtsson (8 March 1932 – 6 June 2013) was a Danish cellist. Born in Copenhagen, Bengtsson gave his first public performance there in 1936, when he was four years old. He was admitted at the age of sixteen to the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia where he studied with Gregor Piatigorsky, who engaged him as a teaching assistant in 1949. From 1950 to 1953, Bengtsson taught his own cello class at the Institute, before being appointed to the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. In 1980, he became a professor at the Hochschule für Musik Köln. He returned to America in 1990 and taught at the University of Michigan School of Music until his retirement from academia in 2006. Erling Sven Lorentzen (28 January 1923 – 9 March 2021) was a Norwegian shipowner and industrialist. He founded Aracruz Celulose in 1968. He was the widower of Princess Ragnhild, the eldest child of King Olav V of Norway.
