Gladstone is an Queensland Legislative Assembly electoral districts, electoral district of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland, Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of Queensland. The seat was created as a reconfigured version of Electoral district of Port Curtis, Port Curtis for the 1992 Queensland state election, 1992 election. It consists of the Gladstone, Queensland, city of Gladstone and some of the towns of the former Shire of Calliope. Glenn Butcher (politician)
Glenn James Butcher (born 15 April 1972) is an Australian politician currently serving as the Labor member for Gladstone in the Queensland Legislative Assembly since 2015. He previously served as Queensland Minister for Regional Development and Manufacturing, as well as Minister for Water, during the Third Palaszczuk ministry and subsequent Miles ministry. Prior to this, he held various other portfolios during the First and Second Palaszczuk ministries. Political career Butcher had contested Gladstone in 2012, losing to incumbent independent MP Liz Cunningham. The 2017 Queensland state election was held on 25 November 2017 to elect all 93 members of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland, the unicameral Parliament of Queensland. The 2012 Queensland state election was held on 24 March 2012 to elect all 89 members of the Legislative Assembly, a unicameral parliament. The Liberal National Party of Queensland (LNP) is a major conservative political party in Queensland, Australia. It was formed in 2008 by a merger of the Queensland divisions of the Liberal Party and the National Party. In most other states, the two parties remain separate and distinct. 1995 Queensland State Election
Elections were held in the Australian state of Queensland on 15 July 1995 to elect the 89 members of the state's Legislative Assembly. The Labor Party, which had been in power since the 1989 election and led by Premier Wayne Goss, was elected to a third term, defeating the National/ Liberal Coalition under Rob Borbidge. The Queensland Nationals and Liberals were contesting their first election as a coalition in 15 years, having renewed their agreement midway through Goss' second term. The Coalition actually won a majority of the two-party preferred vote. However, most of that vote was wasted on landslide margins in the Nationals' rural heartland. Elizabeth Anne Cunningham is an Australian politician. She was an independent member of the Legislative Assembly of Queensland from 1995 to 2015, representing the electorate of Gladstone.
