Enterprise Investment Scheme
The Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) is a series of UK tax reliefs launched in 1994 in succession to the Business Expansion Scheme. It is designed to encourage investments in small unquoted companies carrying on a qualifying trade in the United Kingdom. By the end of the 2014-15 tax year, a cumulative total of £14.2 billion had been invested under the scheme into approximately 25,000 companies. In that year, in excess of £1.8 billion was invested under the EIS. Purpose Investment in companies that are not listed on a stock exchange often carries a high risk of loss of capital, and low market liquidity means that it may be difficult or time consuming to sell or realise the investment. English for Integrated Studies (EIS) is a new model of bilingual education first introduced in the Kingdom of Thailand. In 2004, the EIS project Thai teachers instruct their classes (Science, Mathematics, Computer and English: STEM) using English as a medium of instruction (EMI) with STEM English multi-media. The Eisbach, locally known as , is a long river and left or western tributary of the Rhine in the northeastern Palatinate and southeastern Rhenish Hesse, in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Course The largest of the seven springs of the Eisbach is at an elevation of about above sea level on the northern slope of the Hohe Bühl mountain, , in the northern Palatinate Forest, southwest of Ramsen. Emergency Infant Services (EIS) is a nonprofit organization based in Tulsa, Oklahoma, focused on meeting the basic human needs of infants and children under five years old. History Emergency Infant Services was founded on January 1, 1977, by Linda Watts in the balcony of the Second Presbyterian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Noticing how unexpected circumstances made it temporarily impossible for families to make ends meet, she decided it was time to lend a helping hand. The goal from the beginning has always been to help prevent families from falling further into a poverty cycle by helping with their immediate needs such as formula, diapers, food, wipes, clothing, and car seats. The Eastern Independent Schools of Melbourne (EISM or EIS) are a group of twenty two independent secondary schools in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The schools compete against one another in sporting competitions. History The first instance of the Independent Schools in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne coming together is in 1964 as the Eastern Independent Schools Association. Initially the competition was for boys only, and the only sport offered was Australian Rules Football. Egon Eis
Egon Eis, born Egon Eisler (6 October 1910 – 6 September 1994) was an Austrian screenwriter. He wrote for nearly 50 films between 1930 and 1983. Eis was forced into exile during the Nazi era, but returned to work in the German film industry after the Second World War where he worked on the popular series of Edgar Wallace films as well as other projects. Otto Eis
Otto Eis (1903–1952) was an Austrian-born writer who worked on a number of screenplays. He was born Otto Eisler to a Jewish family in Budapest which was then part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. He later moved to Germany, where he was employed in the German film industry. Following the Nazi seizure of power in 1933, he moved to Austria, but had to flee again to France following the Anchluss. Eis later moved to the United States, but struggled to secure work in Hollywood although he wrote scripts for a handful of B pictures.
