HK Drott
HK Drott Halmstad is a handball club, based in Halmstad, Sweden. The club has won the Swedish Championship eleven times, last in 2013. Together with Redbergslids IK, HK Drott have dominated Swedish handball between 1984 and 2003. This club has had many famous players, among them Magnus Andersson, Ola Lindgren, Bengt Johansson and Göran Bengtsson. History The founding HK Drott was founded on 10 March 1936 by Lars-Erik Dymne, Erik Månsson, Arvid Fridh and Ingvar Svensson, all 13 years of age; the club was originally formed as a football club. A few games were then played in 1937, with HK Drott winning all games played in the rural areas, while at least 3 of the games played in town were lost. Drott Manufacturing Company
The Drott Manufacturing Company was a manufacturer of heavy equipment buckets. The company existed from 1916 until 1968. History The company founded (as the Drott Tractor Company) by Edward Drott in 1916. The company was based in Butternut, Wisconsin before moving to Wausau, Wisconsin. In 1923, after several re-organizations, it became the Drott Manufacturing Company. Drott was taken over by Tenneco in 1968 and became a division of Case Corporation which was owned by Tenneco. Drott Buckets Drott developed buckets for other manufacturer's construction bulldozers, including one of the first of its type for Caterpillar in 1930. The bucket held roughly 1 cubic yard of soil. The company's best-known product was the Drott 4 in 1 bucket. This was a tractor attachment with four functions: dozer, clamshell, bucket and scraper. Dick Drott
Richard Fred Drott (July 1, 1936 – August 16, 1985) was an American Major League Baseball player who pitched for the Chicago Cubs and the Houston Colt .45s. Drott, nicknamed "Hummer", started his major league career in 1957 with the Cubs. He won 15 games as a rookie, led the league in walks allowed, and finished third in balloting for Rookie of the Year. He graduated from Western Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. On April 24, 1957, Drott was ejected from a game for using a wheelchair to wheel Moe Drabowsky to first base after Drabowsky claimed he was hit on the foot by a pitch. Arm injuries limited Drott's effectiveness after 1957. He was drafted during the regular phase of the 1961 MLB Expansion Draft by the Houston Colt .45s. After posting a 2–12 record in 1963, Drott was sent back to the minor leagues. By 1965 he was finished playing professional baseball. Pythagoras Mechanical Workshop Museum
Pythagoras Mechanical Workshop Museum () is located in the premises of the earlier engine factory Pythagoras at the town of Norrtälje in the province of Uppland in Sweden. At the museum, production facilities and working conditions from the first half of the 20th century are on display. The factory produced hot bulb engines and spare parts for them from 1908 up to closure of the workshop in 1979. The engine factory is an industrial heritage site, complete with functioning production lines and offices. Pythagoras company The company was founded in 1898 as Verkstads AB Pythagoras (Pythagoras Mechanical Workshop Ltd.), originally to produce mechanical calculators, hence its name from the Greek mathematician and philosopher Pythagoras. However, these plans failed and the factory instead started producing locks, brass candlesticks and electrical fittings.
