Division Of Bass (state)
The electoral division of Bass is one of the five electorates in the Tasmanian House of Assembly, it includes north-east Tasmania and Flinders Island. Bass takes its name from the British naval surgeon and explorer of Australia: George Bass. The division shares its name and boundaries with the federal division of Bass. Bass and the other House of Assembly electoral divisions are each represented by five members elected under the Hare-Clark electoral system. Electoral Division Of Rosevears
The electoral division of Rosevears is one of the 15 electorates or 'seats' in the Tasmanian upper house. The division is located on the west side of the Tamar River. It is named after the town of Rosevears which is located on the river banks near Exeter. The electoral boundaries include the towns of Exeter, Rowella, Sidmouth, Legana, Bridgenorth, Gravelly Beach, Greens Beach, Beaconsfield, Glengarry, Beauty point and Clarence point. The division also includes the Launceston suburbs of West Launceston, Riverside, Summerhill, Trevallyn and Glen Dhu. The Division of Bass is an Divisions of the Australian House of Representatives, Australian electoral division in Tasmania. It includes most of the city of Launceston, Tasmania, Launceston and its surrounds. It has traditionally been a marginal seat and has had more members than any other federal electorate. Geography Since 1984, federal electoral division boundaries in Australia have been determined at redistributions by a redistribution committee appointed by the Australian Electoral Commission. Flinders Island, the largest island in the Furneaux Group, is a island in the Bass Strait, northeast of the island of Tasmania. Today Flinders Island is part of the state of Tasmania, Australia. The House of Assembly, or Lower House, is one of the two chambers of the Parliament of Tasmania in Australia. The other is the Tasmanian Legislative Council, Legislative Council or Upper House. The Assembly has 35 members, elected for a term of up to four years, with seven members being elected in each of five electorates, called divisions.
