Diving At The 2024 Summer Olympics
The diving (sport), diving competitions at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris were held from 27 July to 10 August 2024 at the Paris Aquatics Centre. A total of 136 divers, with an equal distribution between men and women, competed across eight medal events (four per gender in both individual and synchronized) at these Games, the same amount as 2020 Summer Olympics, Tokyo 2020. For the first time, Chinese divers swept all of the available events, winning a record eight gold medals. Great Britain at the 2024 Summer Olympics, Great Britain won no golds for the first time since Diving at the 2016 Summer Olympics, 2016, but won a national record of five medals, being the only team other than China to win more than two, and finished in second place in the table for the third successive Games. Osmar Olvera Ibarra (born 5 June 2004) is a Mexican diver. He was the youngest diver in the Mexican diving team in the 2020 Summer Olympics. He earned two medals at the 2024 Summer Olympics: silver at the synchronized 3 meters springboard event (along with Juan Celaya) and bronze at the individual 3 meters springboard. Wang Zongyuan (; born 24 October 2001) is a Chinese diver. Wang competed in the 2019 World Aquatics Championships and won gold in the 1 metre springboard. He also competed at the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympics and won gold in the Men's 3m synchro event with Xie Siyi and the silver in the 3m springboard. Xie Siyi (; born 28 March 1996) is a Chinese Diving (sport), diver. He has won four gold medals at the FINA World Aquatics Championships, World Championships and three Olympic Games, Olympic gold medals. Career Xie's previous main event was 10m platform and his partner was Chen Aisen. However, due to a serious injury in 2012, he began focusing more on springboard. At the 2015 World Aquatics Championships, he became a new world champion after winning the gold medal of 1m springboard. He also won a gold in Diving at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships – Men's 3 metre springboard, 3m springboard at the 2017 World Aquatics Championships held in Budapest.
