Paul Deem
Paul Thomas Deem (born August 16, 1957)) is a retired American track cyclist who set the 1974 national record for the 3 km Velodrome in Encino, California. Deem won the gold medal for the 4 km team pursuit in the 1975 Pan American in Mexico City. Deem finished the team pursuit in tenth place at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal with Leonard Nitz, James Ochowicz, Ralph Therrio. At the 1977 U.S. National Cycling Championships in Seattle, Washington, Deem won first place in the individual time trial, individual pursuit, team pursuit, and the 100 km time trial. No one since Deem has won four first-place positions at one cycling competition. Deem retired from competitive cycling in 1981 due to a progressive loss of muscle tissue caused by Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease. However, Deem continues coaching cyclists in Orange County, California. George Deem
George Charles Deem Jr. (August 18, 1932 – August 11, 2008) was an American artist best known for reproducing vivid re-workings of classic images from art history. All artists rework the art of the past, at times imitating, at times extending, and at times rejecting the work of artists they admire. Deem moved the process of homage and change into uncharted territory. Art historian Robert Rosenblum has called Deem's unconventional thematic choices "free-flowing antasyabout the facts and fictions of art history." Life and career Deem was born in Vincennes, Indiana where he grew up and often worked alongside his cantaloupe-farmer father. Frank Deem
J. Frank Deem (March 20, 1928 – October 10, 2018) was an American businessman and politician. Deem was born in Harrisville, West Virginia. He served in the United States Navy. Deem received his bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from Marietta College. He was involved in the oil and gas drilling business and was the owner of the J. F. Deem Oil and Gas Limited Liability Company. Deem lived in Vienna, West Virginia. Deem served in the West Virginia Senate from 1964 to 1978 and from 1994 to 2010. He also served in the West Virginia House of Delegates from 1954 to 1962, from 1988 to 1990, and from 2014 to his death in 2018. He was a Republican. Helen Deem
Muriel Helen Deem (née Easterfield, 26 February 1900 – 26 October 1955) was a New Zealand medical doctor, medical officer, Plunket medical adviser and university lecturer. Early life The daughter of Thomas Easterfield and Anna Maria Kunigunda Büchel, she was born in Wellington, New Zealand, on 26 February 1900. Her father was a founding professor of chemistry at Victoria University of Wellington and director of the Cawthron Institute in Nelson from 1919 to 1930. She attended Wellington Girls' College and Otago University where she graduated in 1925. Her sister was Dr Theodora Hall. Career After graduating Deem became a house surgeon at Wanganui Hospital and honorary physician to the Stewart Karitane Hospital. Roger Deem (February 7, 1958 – December 18, 2020) was an American professional wrestling photographer who worked in the Midwestern area. Career Deem was based out of Jacksonville, Illinois and covered wrestling events for many national and international magazines and publications between 1973 and 1983. Deem photographed wrestling cards staged in St. Louis, Missouri, at the Kiel Auditorium and The Checkerdome under the promotional banner of Sam Muchnick's St. Louis Wrestling Club. He was also a fixture on the program ''Wrestling at the Chase'', for KPLR-TV. Deem worked throughout the Kansas City area with the American Wrestling Association promotion.
