Thomas W. B. Carrique is a Canadian police officer who has been the commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police since June 6, 2019. Before joining the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Carrique was a member of the York Regional Police, where he was the deputy chief of police from 2011 to 2019. Career York Regional Police Carrique joined the York Regional Police in 1990. He has worked in the intelligence unit, the drugs and vice enforcement unit, and led the traffic bureau, organized crime unit, and special services unit before being named a deputy chief of police in 2011. Gwenneth (Gwen) M. Boniface (born August 5, 1955) is a Canadian politician who serves as a senator from Ontario since November 10, 2016, sitting as a member of the Independent Senators Group (ISG). A former lawyer and police officer, she was the commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) from 1998 to 2006. Bradley W. Blair was a Deputy Commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police, and he served as the Interim Commissioner from November 3 to December 16, 2018. Joseph Vincent Nicholas Hawkes is a Canadian police officer who served as the 14th commissioner of the Ontario Provincial Police from March 29, 2014 to November 2, 2018. Life and career Hawkes is a native of Hull, Quebec, and he joined the OPP in 1984. He attended the University of Ottawa (graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree) and later the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management (Police Leadership Program). Hawkes is also a graduate of the international Leadership in Counter Terrorism program. The York Regional Police (YRP; ) is the police service of the Regional Municipality of York, Ontario, Canada. YRP was formed in 1971 from the police forces maintained by the nine municipalities which amalgamated into York Region at the time. Julian Fantino, , (; born August 13, 1942) is a Canadian retired police official and former politician. He was the Conservative Party of Canada Member of the Parliament of Canada for the riding of Vaughan following a November 29, 2010 by-election, until his defeat in 2015.
