CFTR Inhibitory Factor
The CFTR inhibitory factor (Cif) is a protein virulence factor secreted by the Gram-negative bacteria ''Pseudomonas aeruginosa'' and '' Acinetobacter nosocomialis''. Discovered at Dartmouth Medical School, Cif is able to alter the trafficking of select ABC transporters in eukaryotic epithelial cells, such as the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR), and P-glycoprotein by interfering with the host deubiquitinating machinery. By promoting the ubiquitin-mediated degradation of CFTR, Cif is able to phenocopy cystic fibrosis at the cellular level. The ''cif'' gene is transcribed as part of a 3 gene operon, whose expression is negatively regulated by CifR, a TetR family repressor. CIF Southern Section
The California Interscholastic Federation-Southern Section (CIF-SS) is the governing body for high school athletics in most of Southern California and is the largest of the ten sections that comprise the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF). Its membership includes most public and private high schools in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, and central and southern Santa Barbara counties. Teams from the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and surrounding areas have competed in the CIF Los Angeles City Section since 1935. CIF-SS's offices are located in Los Alamitos. Champions Indoor Football (CIF) was a professional indoor American football minor league created in 2014 out of the merger between the Champions Professional Indoor Football League (CPIFL) and Lone Star Football League (LSFL), plus one team from the Indoor Football League and two expansion teams. The league maximum player salary as of 2022 was $200 per game, along with housing, medical and meal expenses. Counter Insurgency Force
The Counter Insurgency Force (CIF) is a Police tactical unit of West Bengal Police with headquarters in Garia. It was created by the West Bengal state government in 2010 along the lines of the Greyhounds in Andhra Pradesh to combat proscribed Naxalites and Maoists in the state. At least 1,000 personnel from the state armed forces have been given commando training prior to inclusion in the CIF. CIF (''Common Intermediate Format'' or ''Common Interchange Format''), also known as FCIF (''Full Common Intermediate Format''), is a standardized format for the picture resolution, frame rate, color space, and color subsampling of digital video sequences used in video teleconferencing systems. The Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) was a building in the Kennedy Space Center industrial area that functioned as the core of instrumentation and data processing operations during the Apollo program and the early years of the Space Shuttle program. It centralized the handling of the center's data including offices, laboratories and test stations; and housed general instrumentation activities serving more than one launch complex. The CIF also included the Central Timing Facility, where a precision clock drove countdown clocks and other timing devices at KSC that required a high degree of accuracy.
