''Celebration'' is the third greatest hits album by American singer-songwriter Madonna, released on September 18, 2009, by Warner Bros. Records. The album features 34 songs spanning Madonna's career in the 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s since signing up with the label in 1982. It also includes three new songs: "Celebration (Madonna song), Celebration" which is included on all versions, "Revolver (song), Revolver" which is included on the two-disc editions, and "It's So Cool" which is included as a bonus track on some digital two-disc editions. ''Celebration'' is a musical with a book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt. The musical fable, employing a nearly bare stage, explores the contrasts between youth and old age, innocence and jaded corruption, love and ambition, and poverty and wealth. It was presented on Broadway in 1969 and was not a financial success. Although the critics found the show interesting, it did not develop a broad following among audiences. ''Celebration'' is a live album by pianist Irène Schweizer and drummer Hamid Drake. It was recorded on July 26, 2019, at Konfrontationen Nickelsdorf, 40th Festival for Free and Improvised Music, held at Jazzgallery Nickelsdorf, Austria, and was released in 2021 by Intakt Records on the occasion of Schweizer's 80th birthday. ''Celebration '' is the self-titled second album release by the Mike Love fronted band Celebration. The album was released in February 1979 and mainly features song writing from Mike Love and Ron Altbach. The album also contains a Brian Wilson co-write called "How’s About A Little Bit". "Starbaby" and "Gettin' Hungry" were released as the lead singles for album. "Gettin' Hungry" was a cover of a Beach Boys track from 1967. The album was only released on LP and is currently out of print. It has also long been difficult to find as it is estimated only 5,000 copies were pressed and released. ''Celebration at Big Sur'' (also known simply as ''Celebration'') is a film of the 1969 Big Sur Folk Festival in Big Sur, California, featuring Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell and others. Released in 1971, the film was directed by Baird Bryant and Johanna Demetrakas. A young Gary Weis was among the cinematographers; other members of the camera and sound crew also went on to become famous in their fields, including Peter Smokler, Peter Pilafian, and Joan Churchill. The film was released in 2011 as a Region 1 DVD. Celebration is an American psychedelic soul band based in Baltimore, Maryland. Formed in 2004 the band is composed of singer Katrina Ford, multi-instrumentalist Sean Antanaitis and drummer David Bergander, with a number of additional rotating members. The band has released five albums while Ford has pursued a solo career since 2022. History In the beginning, the band's sound as a three-piece was centered on the unique output provided by all the instruments played by Antanaitis in the studio as well as live. He would play all of the music in the band including organ, Moog synthesizer, Moog bass pedals, guitorgan and electric keys, leaving Ford on vocals and Bergander on drums. Celebration was a 1970s American rock music, rock band, fronted by the Beach Boys, Beach Boys lead singer Mike Love as well as members of the band King Harvest. Celebration released three albums before they broke up in 1979. Background During the late 1970s, The Beach Boys, Beach Boys singer Mike Love began to work on outside projects. His first major work was with a new band, Celebration. The band featured members of the short lived band King Harvest as well as future and current Beach Boys live backing members. The band's first project was a soundtrack for the film ''Almost Summer''. ''The Celebration'' () is a 1998 Danish black comedy-drama film directed by Thomas Vinterberg and produced by Nimbus Film. It tells the story of a family gathering to celebrate their patriarch's 60th birthday, during which a family secret is revealed. ''Festen'' was the first film of the Dogme 95 movement, which was created by Vinterberg and his fellow Danish director Lars von Trier.
