Cable News
Cable news channels are television networks devoted to television news broadcasts, with the name deriving from the proliferation of such networks during the 1980s with the advent of cable television. In the United States, the first nationwide cable TV news channel to launch was CNN in 1980, followed by Financial News Network (FNN) in 1981 and CNN2 (now HLN (TV network), HLN) in 1982. CNBC was created in 1989, taking control of FNN in 1991. Through the 1990s and beyond, the cable news industry continued to grow, with the establishment of several other networks, including, Fox News, Fox News Channel, MSNBC, and specialty channels such as Bloomberg Television, Fox Business, Fox Business Network, and ESPNews, ESPN News. Flickr ( ) is an image hosting service, image and Online video platform, video hosting service, as well as an online community, founded in Canada and headquartered in the United States. It was created by Ludicorp in 2004 and was previously a common way for amateur and professional photographers to host high-resolution photos. It has changed ownership several times and has been owned by SmugMug since April 20, 2018. Flickr had a total of 112 million registered members and more than 3.5 million new images uploaded daily. RFD-TV is an American pay television channel owned by Rural Media Group, Inc. The channel features programming devoted to rural issues, concerns and interests. The channel's name is a reference to Rural Free Delivery, the name for the United States Postal Service's system of delivering mail directly to rural patrons. Production and uplinking facilities for RFD-TV are located at 49 Music Square West, Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee. RFD-TV's sister radio channel is Rural Radio on Sirius XM. RFD-TV formerly owned a theater in Branson, Missouri, where some variety shows that air on RFD-TV were filmed; the station also owned the Imus Ranch in Ribera, New Mexico. Northwest Cable News
Northwest Cable News (NWCN) was an American cable news television channel owned by Tegna Media. The channel, which launched on December 18, 1995, provided 24-hour rolling news coverage focused primarily on the Pacific Northwest region of the United States ( Washington, Oregon, Idaho and northwest Montana). The channel was headquartered out of the studio facilities of Tegna-owned NBC affiliate KING-TV (channel 5) in downtown Seattle. The channel was available to 2.9 million residents (through both cable television and over-the-air) within the region, and, to a lesser extent, Alaska, Northern California, and other areas of Montana. FiOS1 was a news-based pay television network that was carried by Verizon Fios in the New York metropolitan area. Launched on June 22, 2009 in Long Island and New Jersey and later on May 28, 2014 in the Lower Hudson Valley, FiOS1 provided hyper-local news, weather, traffic, sports and also original programming. FiOS1 was only available in Northern New Jersey, Long Island, and Lower Hudson Valley. The networks focused on content produced by RNN, which produced the network's newscasts. Sports coverage featured local high schools and colleges such as Rutgers University, Hofstra University and Princeton University. The News 12 Networks are a group of regional cable news television channels in the New York metropolitan area that are owned by Altice USA. The terms local programme, local programming, local content or local television refers to a television program made by a television station or independent television producer for broadcast only within the station's transmission area or television market. Local programmes can encompass the whole range of programme genres but will usually only cover subjects or people of particular interest to an audience within the station's coverage area.
