Ego Boyo
Nwakaego (Ego) Boyo (born September 6, 1968) is a Nigerian actor, producer, executive producer and creative entrepreneur who is popular for her role as Anne Haatrope in the early 90s soap, ''Checkmate''. She is the founder and Managing Director of Temple Productions, Temple films and Temple Studio. Early life Boyo was born in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Umuahia, Nigeria during the Nigerian Civil War to the family of Augustine Nnamani and Gloria Nnamani Nee Harewood. She left Nigeria at just ten days old during the Nigerian Civil War and lived in Barbados for the first four years of her life before returning to Enugu in 1971. In 1976, her family moved to Lagos. She has a Bachelor of Arts in Theater Art from the University of Benin. Boyo Ockinga is an Egyptologist, epigrapher, and philologist of the ancient Egyptian language, who holds the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Ancient History at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. ''Boyo v London Borough of Lambeth'' 994ICR 727 is a UK labour law case, concerning wrongful dismissal. Facts Mr Boyo was an accountant for Lambeth London Borough Council until suspended and dismissed as the police charged him with fraud. His contract said he would only be dismissed after an investigation and consideration of allegations of gross misconduct, but the council did nothing because it did not want to interfere with the police investigation or prosecution. It initially claimed frustration but then admitted wrongful dismissal. First instance awarded six months' wages, for one month notice and a five month disciplinary. Mr Boyo claimed damages for salary loss up to trial date, when he accepted the repudiatory breach of contract. Judgment The Court of Appeal held that while the employer did not unilaterally terminate the contract, the employer was liable to pay compensation up to the time when it could lawfully unilaterally terminate.
