The Ouled Naïl (; ) are an Arab tribal confederation living in the Ouled Naïl Range, Algeria. They are found mainly in Bou Saâda, and Djelfa, but there is also a significant number of them in Ghardaïa. Origins The oral lore of the Ouled Naïl people claims ancient Arab descent from tribes that arrived in the area about a thousand years ago. Bousbir (, ) was a walled-off brothel quarter in Casablanca, Morocco, established by Resident General Lyautey during the French protectorate. Origins Following the Treaty of Fez in 1912, Morocco became a French protectorate. The French authorities were concerned about the spread of STIs, particularly syphilis, amongst the troops stationed in the protectorate. Loi Marthe Richard (Marthe Richard Law) of 13 April 1946 abolished the regime of regulated prostitution in France that had been in force since 1804.
