Blindoldfreak (Officially: blindoldfreak) is the Electronic-Alternative solo project of Alessandro Cortini (best known as part of the Nine Inch Nails touring lineup from 2005 to 2008 and again since 2013). Cortini uses primarily the Buchla 200e when recording as Blindoldfreak, distinguishing it from his other solo work under the alias SONOIO and under his given name. Alessandro Cortini (born 24 May 1976) is an Italian musician best known for his work with the American industrial band Nine Inch Nails. He plays modular synthesizers, keyboards, guitar, and bass guitar. Cortini is the first Italian inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2020, when he was inducted as a member of Nine Inch Nails. Buchla Electronic Musical Instruments (BEMI) was a manufacturer of synthesizers and unique MIDI controllers. The origins of the company could be found in Buchla & Associates, created in 1963 by synthesizer pioneer Don Buchla of Berkeley, California.
