Area code 403 is a telephone area code in the North American Numbering Plan (NANP) for the Canadian province of Alberta. The numbering plan area encompasses the southern third of the province, which includes the Calgary area. This numbering plan area is also served by area codes 587, 825, and 368, which form a complex overlay for all of Alberta. Stettler, Alberta
Stettler is a town in Central Alberta, east-central Alberta, Canada that is surrounded by the County of Stettler No. 6. History Stettler was founded in 1905 and was named after Swiss immigrant Carl Stettler, who also founded a settlement east of the town at Blumenau, as well as being influential in the nearby community of Castor, Alberta, Castor. He also served on the first Town Council of Stettler. Stettler was the site of the worst mass murders in Alberta history in 1959, when Robert Raymond Cook killed his father, stepmother, and their three children. Alix, Alberta
Alix is a village in central Alberta, Canada that is northeast of Red Deer. Its village mascot is the Alix-Gator, who is featured prominently on many signs and businesses. Originally, the settlement was called ''Toddsville'' after Joseph Todd. When the settlement was incorporated on June 3, 1907, it was named after Alexia Westhead, the first white woman settler of the community. (Alix was her nickname.) The first mayor of Alix was Robert F. Sanderson, who also owned and ran the general store. Alix Westhead was friends with Irene Marryat and invited her to come for a visit in 1896. Acme is a village in south-central Alberta, Canada. It is located northeast of Calgary. It was the first village to be incorporated in Kneehill County. The name ''Acme'' is derived from the village's railway heritage. When the Canadian Pacific Railway reached the area in 1909, the village's station became the most northernly stop on the company's network.
