Apers Published 1903–21
The Apers are a Dutch pop punk band who formed in Rotterdam in 1996. They have released their first three albums on Stardumb Records, then released their 2007 album ''Reanimate My Heart'' on Sonic Rendezvous Records in Europe, and Insubordination Records in the US, before moving on to Asian Man Records. They have played about 700 shows all over Europe and the USA. Pop-punk (also punk-pop, alternatively spelled without the hyphen) is a rock music fusion genre that combines elements of punk rock with power pop or pop music, pop. Asian Man Records
Asian Man Records is a DIY record label run by Mike Park in Monte Sereno, California. Park started a record label and began releasing music in 1989 under the name Dill Records, with the Asian Man label established in May 1996. History Asian Man Records were distributed by Mordam Records. Sublabels In 2011, Park established the Fun Fun Records sublabel, which released children's music. Stardumb Records
Stardumb Records is a small independent record label based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands that was launched in 2000. It is regarded as the best known European label specializing in 1990s-style pop-punk. History Stardumb Records started its operation in 2000. Their first release was a 7-inch by local band The Apers, and releases by similar pop punk bands inspired by the sound of Lookout! Records artists followed. Their roster included Italy's The Manges, and Retarded, and the UK's Zatopeks while they also released records by US bands like The Groovie Ghoulies, The Methadones, The Queers, Geoff Palmer as well as Darlington. Insubordination Records
Insubordination is the act of willfully disobeying a lawful order of one's superior. It is generally a punishable offense in hierarchical organizations such as the armed forces, which depend on people lower in the chain of command obeying orders. Screeching Weasel
Screeching Weasel is an American punk rock band consisting of Ben Weasel (vocals), Mike Kennerty (guitar), Mike Hunchback (guitar), Zach "Poutine" Brandner (bass) and Pierre Marche (drums) founded in 1986 by Ben Weasel and John Pierson (musician), John Jughead. Screeching Weasel is originally from the Chicago suburb of Prospect Heights, Illinois. Since their formation, Screeching Weasel have reformed several times with lineup changes. Ben Weasel has been the only constant member, though Jughead was present in every incarnation of the band until 2009. Ben Weasel
Benjamin Foster (born April 8, 1968), also known as Ben Weasel, is an American musician best known as the lead singer and guitarist of the punk rock band Screeching Weasel. Early life Foster was born in 1968, and was raised in Prospect Heights, Illinois. He attended River Trails Middle School in Mount Prospect, Illinois, where he first met future Screeching Weasel co-founder John Pierson. Weasel was expelled from John Hersey High School and St. Viator High School. He was eventually sent to the Élan School in Poland, Maine for his behavior issues.
