Afshan D'souza-lodhi
afshan d’souza-lodhi is a queer Muslim writer of Indian and Pakistani heritage, born in Dubai and raised in Manchester, England. She primarily writes poetry and plays. She has received the Royal National Theatre's Peter Shaffer award, and a TV pilot based on her radio play "Chop Chop" was selected for the #MuslimList. Her first collection, '' e:''desi''re' (Burning Eye Books, 2020), was longlisted for the Jhalak Prize. Her 2020 play ''Santi & Naz'' (co-written with Guleraana Mir) was the recipient of the Fringe Society's Keep It Fringe Fund and won the Charlie Hartill Fund 2023. Career afshan d'souza-lodhi studied philosophy, and later completed a master's degree in postcolonial literature and culture. Commonword (1975–present) is a writing development organisation based in Manchester, North West England, providing opportunities for new and aspiring writers to develop their talent and potential, promoting new writing on national and international levels. Cheddar Gorgeous is the stage name of Michael John Atkins, a British drag performer and academic who competed on series 4 of ''RuPaul's Drag Race UK''. Andrew McMillan (born 1988) is an English poet and lecturer. Biography McMillan was born near Barnsley, South Yorkshire. He is the son of poet Ian McMillan. He studied at University of Lancaster, and then at University College London, and is now Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Manchester Metropolitan University. His debut collection, ''Physical'', was published by Jonathan Cape in 2015. It was the first collection of poems to win the Guardian First Book Award, and also won a Somerset Maugham Award and the Fenton Aldeburgh First Collection Prize.
